My good friend Dave had one of these in High School. Did all kinds of performance mods. He loved that car. R.I.P. Dave.

Hi everyone, I am the proud owner of a 1975 Ford Gran Torino which I want to restore, which I am suggested to do to get some parts. I live in Venezuela in the City of Caracas. After watching the video, I was very encouraged to continue with the restoration of the vehicle.

Thumbs-Up #66 I am, Sunday afternoon 16 December 2018. Beautiful car. They still exist but the ones I have seen are usually in need of a LOT of restoration work. Glad you kept this video up.

I did not care for the Starsky & Hutch design either. I was 21 yrs old when I purchased my 74. It was midnight blue with a blue vinyl roof. It was equipped with a 351 2V V8, am/fm Stereo radio, flight bench seat with a fold down armrest instead of bucket seats. It also had A/C and rear fender skirts. The sticker price with options was about $4500. It was a pleasure to drive. I drove to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, Canada and Niagra Falls New York. It was a great car.
@fredmartin87384 жыл бұрын
Mine was a Sport... midnight blue... no vinyl top or opera windows... bucket seat console... two tone blue 351W 2V... Currently restoring a white/white with two tone blue interior... flight bench 351W 2V... rare combination

I have owned quite a few Gran Torino I didn't care much for the brome I had a few Sports they were nice but I had a 75 which was my best and I painted up like Starsky and Hutch and then I sold it to a guy in England

Nice. I doubt it spent its life in MIchigan. Nice to see dual exhaust on that 400. Those engines were never given a chance to perform.

This is a very nice looking car. By the time the '76 model came about though, it was no longer based on the '71, '72, or '73 mustang chassis. Torino's now shared the LTD platform. Big, bloated, and heavier than first or second generation Torino's. Still these were very stunning and stylish ex- muscle cars.

By the time the 72 came around you’re a few years late there .

If starsky and hutch had this car in blue with the white stripe it would have looked soooo much better....or red without the ugly stripe. Personally I want a 1970 Torino with the 351c or 427 sohc in it....in a dark maroon. (Only seen one without the stupid stripes and headlights that doesn't hide....looked really beautiful 😍)

Love the Torino. Ford stopped making the Sport in 76. Did this car have the sports suspension like the sport? Wish I could go back in time and buy one. Like the floor shifter.
@shawnbowser9934 Жыл бұрын
Really digging that floor shifter only available in the Torino sport tho....Not in the Elite which I'm doing a resto on...One of the last to roll out of the west Covina plant...or so says the build sheet that was behind the back seat

Love that Torino of yours. Great looking car. Wish it had sports instrument cluster but I know Ford stopped putting ion Torino in 76. Sick of the Stars Hutch cars ever time someone mentions Torinos.

Where do you find your restoration parts? I'm having one hell of a time finding the stuff I need.
@fredmartin87386 жыл бұрын
Car is all original. Normal items like belts hoses can be purchased at local parts store or Summit Racing. Other than that, I watch for NOS parts on eBay.
@larryhawkins32944 жыл бұрын
This looks like a Gran Torino Sport. They are the only ones that came with bucket seats and console. The Broughams had 50/50 split bench seats in a luxury cloth fabric upholstery.
@fredmartin87384 жыл бұрын
Larry... this is a 1976 Gran Torino.... not a Sport... they stopped building Sports in 1975.... Bucket seats with console was an option in 1976
@larryhawkins32944 жыл бұрын
You are right about the Sport being dropped from the 76 model yr. The 74 Gran Torino Sport was my 1st purchase car when I graduated from college. I slacked off from following the progression of Gran Torinos thereafter. Bucket seats and console became optional on the Gran Torino to replace the void vacated by the Gran Torino Sport as you had started. They were very nice cars with numerous available luxury options such as cornering lamps, auto climate control and AM/FM Stereo with 8 track tape player.
@fredmartin87384 жыл бұрын
1974 Gran Torino Sports are hard to find, even more so the 1975 model... I had one in my early 20's and now have another. Most were converted to Starsky cars.... for which I really don't care for at all.

I know these cars inside now I've restored all together 8 Grand Torino's and a couple of rancheros I never did care for the 351 - 400 modified I would always get Cleveland's and replace them if they had that modified

Este es igual al de la serie STARSKY & HUTCH, solo que este no tiene vidrios electricos como el modelo rojo con blanco que aparecia en la famosa serie de los 70'S.

What is 1976 elite in great condition with 8300 miles on odometer with sky blue and darker blue vinyl half roof 400 motor
@almodequindre86013 жыл бұрын
If it's 8300 actual miles and not 108,300 miles that would be an incredible car. The car originally came out as the Gran Torino Elite and then they dropped the Gran Torino and called it Elite. The car was made to compete with the Monte Carlo and others in the two door personal luxury car market.
