Forget Safelite, even their counterparts in Japan aren't going to have it. Toyota built less than 16,000 of these things, so it's not like there's any NOS or aftermarket support, and finding a donor for used parts isn't going to be much easier. I want to see them restore one with broken glass on "Wheeler Dealers", just to see what sort of crazy solution they'd come up with. Considering the size and complex shapes of these glass pieces, I don't think it'd be as simple as cutting another windshield to fit like they did with that Saab. They'd probably have to have somebody make a replacement from scratch, most likely out of plexiglass.
@mint-flavouredsand89435 жыл бұрын
You’d be contacting expert automotive glassmakers to get replacements for this. You would need to spend an inordinate amount of money on it too. Don’t take to places where someone could try a smash and grab, don’t drive it on gravel and be very careful in the city
@TBustah5 жыл бұрын
The windshield might be doable, actually. It looks like it might be the same one found on the contemporary Tercel, which makes sense considering that the Sera, L40 Tercel, L40 Paseo, and P80 Starlet were all more or less based on the same platform.

@TheLegend27 I had one of those! 😃. The Mazda MX-3 1.6 Litre Twin Cam. Bought 5th hand at 33,000 miles. Drove it to 77,000 miles over 8.5 years before part exchanging it for a Toyota Prius Tspirit Hybrid. The MX-3 was ultra reliable, never broke down, even had passive rear wheel steer. Loved my 1998 MX-3, was sorry to part with it, but did so out of purely economic reasons. Fuel was too expensive in the UK and it cost much more than a fully loaded Mercedes C Class to insure. I’m very happy with my top of the range Prius Tspirit (Top UK spec, including voice command capability), BUT...... I do miss the sheer exterior beauty of the MX-3. It looked almost as cute as the Toyota Sera, but rather bigger with a lot less glass. The driver of a Sera looks like an F-16 Pilot perched on top of the fighter and clearly visible to all. In an MX-3 you seemed to sit so low, you were barely visible - as if you were piloting an Aurora Skunk Works aircraft prototype 🤓

I really like the design it surprises me that has Projector headlights and the pull out handles for 90's car it looks ahead of its time

the quirk of an autozam, but the anemic heart of a 90s Toyota? this car is a perfect storm of weeb bait
@Haloruler645 жыл бұрын
Anemic? It makes almost double the power of an AZ-1.

@@Haloruler64 yeah but the weight of an autozam goes down by ten percent if you forget your keys and wallet that day. It could have the drive train of a rc car and still be fast
@Haloruler645 жыл бұрын
@@krpajda Right, it's almost 500 lbs lighter. I'm not saying the Sera is just as fast (although from Googling, the Sera might be sliiiiiiighty faster to 60, but both are above 10 seconds). I was just refuting the "anemic heart" statement. While potentially true, it's a silly statement when comparing to a 64PS AZ-1 engine./

Same motor my 05 Scion xB had... 1.5L 108hp. N that weighed 500lbs more n had the aeris dynamics of a "Toaster". So the sera cant possibly suck.

@@Grimm-Gaming Different motor, the old A and E series died in the 90s in the US. Yours was at least modern and had an aluminum block. 1NZ-FE, three gens newer. E was replaced by A, then by ZZ, then by NZ basically.

First time in my life I genuinely think a car would be cooler if it was lowered

Absolutely, go too far and you'll be banging your exhaust, there really isn't that much room, but they do lower well.
