I really love when you get in a car and just have fun, just the basic and the sound of the engine

There was also a Tomb Raider edition Jeep Wrangler. One of the only videogame edition of a vehicle out there

AMC has used straight six engines from 1960 to 2006 or 2010, the engines were the 199 CI, 232 CI, 258 CI, 256 CI, 4.0 engines

My older brother used to have a black 1993 Jeep Wrangler, he loved it, had it for about 3 years without any major problems.

Zak, you're killing it with the content dude! I'd be willing to bet that nobody has done the amount of work you've done so far. There's people writing for magazines that haven't put in this kinda work. It's like a super power.

One pointer, the first gauge isn’t a warning light gauge, it’s a 4WD indicator gauge

One of the most affordable movie cars to make a replica of. The under-dash A/C was common in many cars until integrated A/C became popular. The full-width plastic dashboard was a huge change from the CJ which had a steel dashboard with a foam crash pad screwed on. The YJ and CJ-7 bodies and frames are interchangeable with minor mods. The YJ had lower and wider leaf springs than the CJ for better drivability and lower rollover risk. I don't believe the headlight rollover story, it's far more likely that the square headlights were simply to go with the squared-off styling trend of the 80s. I'm a Jeep fan and that's the first I've heard that particular story. I only drove my CJ-7 with the top down once because I don't like the sun on me. What I usually do, and must do in the summer because it has no A/C, is take the doors and windows off. It's a lot of fun and doesn't need to go fast. I've never felt it to be tippy and I think most complaints were about the shorter wheelbase CJ-5. Jeep fitted wide-track axles as standard starting in the early 80s to increase stability.

Real reason AMC went with the 200mm rectangular headlights was that was an emerging trend in sealed beam units. Either the 165mm grouped in pairs (4 total) or the single 200mm on each side of the grill. And with the simple looking Jeep, the only real design choice was the new larger rectangular units. That 'round' looks too much like something that can roll thing is an urban myth.

It's nice to have A/C for when you have the top on, say because of rain. Taking the doors off isn't always pleasant. Source: I own and daily drove a Jeep CJ without A/C for a few years.

You can get upper halves for these doors which have windows, they just don’t roll up and down, they slide back and forth

I daily drove a Jeep CJ-7 for several years. It can be done. It's bouncy and slow but the YJ is supposed to be slightly better. Only slightly. It was fun though.

How is wrangler street legal it's beyond me. How does it pass any passenger safety or emissions tests? It should have been removed from lineup in early 80s.
