I had a 03 cr250 with some work and have a 97 cr250 now, comparing the 2 the 97 by far has the better motor in my opinion, it feels alot more aggressive then the 03. the chassis on the other hand the 97 does not ride as good as the 03 did. my plan is to find a 02+ roller sometime down the road and put my 97 motor in that. that would be the Cr Honda should have built

@wjwn dkd yes the 1997 250 where the first aluminum frames and the 125 Still remained Steel until 98. I'll never sell my bike. Kind of like collecting motorcycles I guess. I'm up to 9 so far. I'm not one of those collectors that have all these pristine machines and never ride. All my machines are well- ridden. I like to call it my own personal harem. My motorcycles don't get any animosity if I ride another one LOL

Greatest bike I’ve ever owned. Ben riding for 40 yrs, started with my 78 YZ80 & haven’t looked back. Well that’s a lie, I’d love to have back my 82 YZ80j’s, had 3 of them; 2 for racing & 1 for practice. Anyway, I ended up with a late yr 97 CR250 like Kens riding...best bike I’ve ever strapped myself to. When riding, my buddies would always have to take a rip on it. So nimble & quick...the second you forgot to respect her, she reminded you real quick. It was piped, ported, polished, blueprinted etc., & it really didn’t even need it. These bikes bone stock were fast AF. I don’t have it anymore, had to sell her, but if I do ever get another bike, if I don’t buy new, I’ll for certain be trying to find me one of these again.

Just wow my man ur deadset showing me every time i look at ur videos or vlogs and just amazing i have everyone of these old 2 strokers u keep on showing me and yes there all fully complete just in need of restoring the lot of them but yeah just wow!! My first would be the Yz125 1999 model 1 owner bike and its been my pride and joy well my go to bike all the time!! And then my 2nd bike was the Cr250r 1999 model i call her my "black widow" ohh its a scarey but awesome bike to ride!! And my 3rd bike is a Cr250r 2002 model still in the middle of build with this beast but its going to be amazing!! My 4th bike is the Yz250 1999 model it was a good bike but got lied to by previous owner said motor was rebuilt not long ago!! Well that wasnt the case bloody rode it once up and half down the back paddock and motor fully locked up on me!! Yeah it was a big kick in the nuts thats forsure!! But yeah thats the next build for me just to flip and make money on!! But yeah my 5th bike is another Yz250 but the 1997 model which had been thrashed by previous owner which i picked up pretty cheap but needs alot of wprk but all these bikes are full complete bikes not a part missing and iver 1st owner bikes or the 2nd owner which makes it pretty cool i reckon the less hands there been thru i guess is better than ever!!hahaha. And then my 6th bike i picked up is my Cr250r 1997 model which again needs alot of work but is a fully complete bike with all the cool boyseen clutch and stator covers and the rad valve cover so yeah and had suspension work done for motocross racing but yeah its going to be my man cave item that will be kepted in bedroom close to me so i can always admire the awesome work ive done to it and to stop these thiefing mongrels in this world today just cant take that risk of loosing a awesome bike and money!! But then i have my last 2 bikes that are my last buys till the wife lets me go crazy again with the bank account but yeah my 7th bike is my little secret weapon!! Its a Rm125 2003 model and there hasnt been nothing left on this weapon to do except the suspension setup but its a beautiful bike the ride and pretty scarey thing to ride but extremely fun and exciting bike to ride thats forsure!! My last but not forgotten is my favourite bike of all time just because u can do anything with these bikes and its the KTM300 EXC 1994 model all white plastics and a 1owner bike its a beautiful and amazing bike to ride like ridding a pillow with the suspension setup which makes it so easy and super fast to get up those hills on the firetrails its amazing wasnt a person that was to fond of the European branded bikes always been a jap bike freak from the age of 4yrs old till now yeah its a big eye opener after ridding anything bigger than the old 250 2stroke!! But yeah man then all my kids and missus and grandkids have all there own bikes as well!! And its a nothing but 2 stroker family the only 4 stroke bike in the sheds is a little old monkey bike its a replica of the honda z50r its a 70cc its called a "dirt bobber" well as i was told thats the brand of bike ive only found a hand full of these bikes around the world so im guessing its a bit of a rare piece so yeah as i told my eldest son he has to take it easy on the old beast but its his pride and joy keeps it super clean and its just a really cool and fun bike for anyone to ride its semi auto clutch so yeah anyone can ride it super easy to teach the kids to ride with gears but still need to work on teaching them the clutch side of life!!hahaha thats the fun part!! So yeah big fella my hat goes off to u and ur family to have a amazing home and work place or museum and hoping u and ur family stay safe thru all this epidemic and hope to come out other side just as safe my man all the best and god bless cheers from jamie and family from the land of down under!!! Australia.

I don’t know where your buying your 4 stroke parts. But you can piston and ring them for about the same as a 2 stroke. Not 2 grand. I loved my 97 cr250, it was a blast back in the day. But my 450RX is a beast and rides like a Cadillac. I’d love to have this bike to play on. But no way I’d go back to riding those on rides over my 450.RX.
@KaplanCycles4 жыл бұрын
I'm talking about the labor part of it being more expensive because the average home mechanic doesn't know how to do a four stroke but any bozo can do a 2-stroke by themselves... and for most of us 2 stroke Fanatics it's not really about about the 30 year old 2 stroke being better than a brand new $12,000 for stroke it's about the experienced it's about the Nostalgia it's about the sound and sight and smell of a vintage 2-stroke that brings back some great memories they're also more fun to ride in some circumstances let the Harley guys say if I had to explain you wouldn't understand LOL if I was going to race Motocross again vintage Motocross anyways I would definitely pick a CR500 if I was going to race modern Motocross I would get a brand new Yamaha YZ 450 4 stroke I like those two you see you can't start an argument with me because I like all the motorcycles they're all special to me 2-stroke or 4-stroke LOL
