Having same issue with mine. 23 Roadglide limited. Getting noise on hot days. Dont have a lift but on jiffy stand its deflecting just shy of 3 marks when cold. Dealer adjusted mine a 1k service and it helped a lot but still noise on decel on hot days. Going to buy a lift and set it my self a tad losser. Never had this issue with past Harley’s. Maybe the belts aren’t stretching as much when new.

If its only on decel it could be out of alignment, rubbing on either side. You will need the tire in the air to rotate it but you can look for any damage on the visible side of the belt, any obvious rubbing marks. Having a lift is key for troubleshooting this one.

@@ITFZone Looks like some of heritage softails have it also. Video below is exactly how mine sounds but only on hot days. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2TdaGeJgbGjfsksi=PNBHSo1OAbyBPzdL

Yep sounds like a too tight belt!

@@ITFZone Bought a jack and adjusted belt. I measured in 4 places and averaged like you a manual said. Decided to set it at the loose end of the spec 9/16. Road about 100 miles after adjustment. Belt and rear pulley looked fine. Made sure both adjuster cams were touching as they should be after torquing. Noise is 99% gone now. Think I would have to go out of spec just a little to totally eliminate it. Measured the tension on jiffy stand after riding and was 2 and 1/2 notches on the guard window. I run stock pipes is probably the only reason I heard the noise.Am guessing many more have same issue and don’t know it due to running louder mufflers.

Excellent! Plus now you can check and adjust anytime. I have not had any noise come back and if there is any of it still there I am am not hearing it.

So I have a 2024 Road Glide and used your videos to do my 1K mileage. One thing I noticed is my bike manual doesn’t have two belt deflections like you mentioned. Also it says to do it with the bike either upright or on the kickstand and the tire on the ground (not raised off of it). Additionally it does not direct you to measure 4 spots and average. I wonder why the difference between your 2023 CVO and the 2024 Road and Street Glides?
@ITFZone2 ай бұрын
Interesting, I have the online version of the 2024 service manual and it is the same as my '23.5 CVO manual. I assume you are using the printed manual? I pull this direct from the 2024 Road Glide SIP Service Manual: Measure belt tension four times, rotating the rear wheel 90 degrees between each measurement. Average the four measurements for accurate belt deflection.

@@ITFZone Yeah mine is the printed 2024 manual that has the instructions I posted. I’ll check it again today and see if I can email you a picture of the page. Assuming you have an email for your channel publicly available.

Vous réglez la courroie à partir du point dur ? (s'il y en a un )
@ITFZoneАй бұрын
You will check the belt at 4 different points and take the average. Otherwise with the old method you found the point with the most deflection to adjust from.
@Thierry-zq4eqАй бұрын
@ITFZoneАй бұрын
@@Thierry-zq4eq I would rotate the wheel and measure at 4 equal spots and average the 4. This is the best option to be more accurate. I highly doubt you are that far off if at all.

In my owner's manual and on HD web site with my VIN number it said WHEEL ON the ground 2023 Street Glide CVO ??
@ITFZone Жыл бұрын
I am referencing the service manual but will take a look. I think the goal is to find the average which requires rotating but the debate would be the weight on the rear wheel and what impact that had on the belt. I really did not find a measurable difference.
