@R MacR Am not a nationalist and i don’t hate the english, not even close. Your assumptions are embarrassing. Also descended from Robert the Bruce: American actresses Hilary Duff and Tilda Swinton, Winston Churchill and Theodore Roosevelt. There will be thousands more. Scottish monarchy has always intermarried with danes, francs, english and irish. Calling them british isn’t holding them in contempt either. A century after monarchy union, England started ethnic cleansing of Scotland and recruiting and dividing Scotland. Calling your country the greatest the world has ever seen is more nationalist that i’ll ever be. “All you care about is boiling hate for the english” “you don’t care about economy, poverty or education” these 3 quotes sum up your arrogance, you know nothing about me yet you assume i hate english people and don’t care about poverty. How fuckin dare you. I stand by my comments, once you join the british army, you are british.

Comparing me to a nazi just because i want an indy Scotland just shows how blind you are and also very disrespectful to the men who fought and died fighting nazism.

As a proud father of a US Marine I would like to extend a warm greetings to my fellow British/Scots who are just the best of the best I am very happy to say I have been to the UK and they are the nicest and kind people you ever wanna meet, great people and country and military and a great friend to the USA and I pray for the UK safety every day and its great people of England and Scotland my heritage is a Scotsman but also an American my very best to all of you UK folks for a safe year 2014 God save the Queen!!

If a Scotsman, then you should know "1745". Scotland got controlled by England, kilts and to bear arms(knives) banned. True Scotsman fled to America, and kicked back asses 1776(Freemasons). Any True Scotsman does not join the new scottish armies controlled by England. Just and only slaves, exchangeable, as you can spot and see at the new "comrades" in the lines of not "scottish origin".
@frank_from_franconia875111 жыл бұрын
STEVENRBGermany What about new "comrades"?? I only see true brave scotsmen!!! Listen, you goddamn racist: times have changed. we don't live in the 18th century. I guess you are from germany like me, so: Wegen Leuten wie DIR denkt die ganze Welt noch immer wir würden hinterm Mond leben!
@STEVENRBGermany11 жыл бұрын
Boy, you snatched up some words or phrases in your exchange days in America or England, like "Listen" or "goddamn", to appear "tough". You ain´t cause you are a "new"-German. Softies, and hysterical cryers, like bitches and just loud shouting. In real life no one would accept or "listen" to your outcry.

We Yanks love our parades...Especially on the 4th of July (Our Declaration of Independence). As an American - I would love, and cherish to see a British Regiment march in one of our parades...The vast majority of us Yanks would love to see it as well!
@Gekkibi9 жыл бұрын
+FMichael1970 A British unit in your parade? History itself would most likely shead a tear or two if that would ever happen. Yes, I'm sure Yanks would love to see that. Not sure about the British tho... As a hint, did you know what happened the last time when British troops were marching on your streets..?

@Whoami6919 жыл бұрын
+FMichael1970 Does that not sorta ruin the point? It is 'independence day' is it not? Would having one of our regiments march in it not nullify the who idea behind it? The sentiment is appreciated, but from a historical and ideological standpoint, it does not make sense.
@FMichael19709 жыл бұрын
Whoami691 The way I see it...If American/German/Japanese veterans can get together on certain historical dates (June 6th, December 7th for example) then why can't the same be done for the 4th of July, and our now British allies?

I wish we did this in the United States. I love how the British keep their traditions.
@Odin0299 жыл бұрын
Yodasstuff The US has a tradition of not marching its standing armies through its cities. So in a way the US is keeping its traditions. When the US marches armies through DC or New York etc its a very special occasion like after the end of WW2
@denisalalykin61259 жыл бұрын
+Odin029 Probably it's because of difference between social values. Western society today and years before is based on strong individualism but any good army units is based on strong collectivism. Collectivism is something about Communism and Russians and giving a chance to united group of armed people march through a city may give wrong signal to civilians.
@Odin0299 жыл бұрын
Denis Alalykin The tradition of not marching soldiers through US cities predates Communism. Heck it predates Karl Marx himself. When the Revolutionary War ended most soldiers signed their separation papers and went back to their lives, same with the War of 1812. I think it has more to do with Americans having mixed emotions about shows of governmental power than anything else.
@denisalalykin61259 жыл бұрын
+Odin029 Interesting opinion and may be it's a good reason for. However it strongly depends on point of view. You can take armed forces as a part of governmental body, as a part of the state. In this variant civilians are somewhow taken out of their normal lives and have to fight. They are glad to come home and wish to have no more ties with will of government and supreme rulers. Okay. It's reasonable. But what if you take armed forces as a part of people, part of nation, part of long history of national survival efforts. Both soldiers and officers form an armed part of people and they serve to protect. Many units were formed centures ago with various inner traditions. In this variant people become proud to be military personnel and parades with epic marching style become a visible and socially adequate form of their pride to be shared and demonstrated. Let's now speak about Russian style. Today it has a dual manner. Modern days Russian army is in fact just a remnant of Soviet army. Original Soviet (or Red) army was based as completely another army as it was during Russian Empire periods. Officer ranks weren't used (like colonels, generals etc) and neutral ranks like "commander of batallion" or "commander of regiment" were taken. "Comrade" was chosen to be a form of mutual address. No more shoulder-straps. It was no more army of emperor but an army of usual people who were volunteered to serve. However in the cruel times of Second World War when enemy was at the gates for Soviet govrnment became evident that if they wish to get higher energy of nation efforts to fight they have to get back some old traditions of former Russian Imperial amy. Shoulder straps were returned to use, officer ranks were returned and even old mdels of Imperial soldiers and officers were allowed to be worn (it's like English sodiers who fought with Revolution were allowed to get official veteran status from Washington government). Anyway the biggest army of the world which was able to crush the power of united Europe couldn't not be just a form of volunteer militia. New empire was emerged and it had built new imperial army. When in 1991 USSR was killed Soviet army continued to exist. With lesser numbers and with lesser muscles and with worse moral values. So today Russian rulers work hard to combine something new with something old and traditional. However all new results give us just a chain of endless mistakes and losses. In this situation Army parades, especially annual victory parade, give all people at least a minor reason to feel pride. When you watch well prepared marching performance of modern Russian army it's not about former or active imperialism but it's about traditional values of big army of big people of big state. Now please watch this recent (september 2014) local parade of Cossacks in Novorossia. Units were of mixed nature with civilians, former war veterans and various real ethnical Cossacks. You may watch some of them trying to march as they were trained but main part just "comes home"... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmKxdXVup5p3lck
