Ian Moss is lead guitarist and also takes lead vocals in many songs as he did in this one. Jimmy Barnes was backing him up in this one but is usually the lead vocalist and has the most incredible voice. Jimmy has had an incredibly successful solo career with something like 16 no1 albums. Could you please check out Jimmy Barnes signing Stone Cold featuring Joe Bonamassa. This is a real blues/Soul kind of song. Jimmy is 58 years old when he did this version of the song Stone Cold but his voice is amazing.

Australia had a crucible that forged some great bands called Pub Rock it was the birth place of AC/DC, Angels, Midnight Oil, Spy V's Spy, Hunters and Collectors, Hoodoo Guru's, Divinyls, Cold Chisel Radiators, Etc Etc. If you could not fill a pub and hold the crowd you did not succeed, so they were all tight muso's that knew the job in front of them to entertain and hold a crowd.

Cold Chisel began life in 1973 as a heavy metal band then went through a few musical changes before cementing themselves as Australia’s No 1 heavy pub rockers..... bigger than AC/DC here. From the start it was the piano player, Don Walker , who controlled the musical direction of the band...... makes me wonder how they started as Heavy Metal. lol This is their gentlest ballad and probably their slowest song...... written by the drummer Steve Prestwich about divorce . Every band member sings and writes great songs..... from blues to hard rock to brilliant ballads. I suggest you take a crack at their live cover of Wild Thing, from their 1983 Last Tour ( saying goodbye to their fans by touring the whole country from big venues to restaurants and church halls ). This is the most feral performance I have ever seen, and the exact opposite to When The War is Over. lol This makes Hendrix’s cover look like soft pop. lol
