Much obliged! Demonstrations like these are much easier to follow along with than the written instructions on the 1zp website. They ought commission tutorials off you lmao

This actually helps a lot compared to some other videos floating around. Thanks for this.

Thanks for the video. I recently purchased a K-Max in AB and it came uncalibrated(close but not at zero). It's nice to get it set right.

tyvm for this video!! would you mind clarifying how you brew so course at 7.5?
@roguewavecoffeeco10 ай бұрын
We have had no trouble with brewing at 7.5 for the K-max, 7.5 for ZP6 for sure will be very very coarse. The grinder used in the video is K-max.
@vizzo77 ай бұрын
your favorite setting for pour over is 7.5 with the zp 6? can you show us your pour over recipe?
@roguewavecoffeeco6 ай бұрын
Sorry, the 7.5 is for K-max/K-ultra. I might have misspoken in the video. Zp6 is 4.5-5.5

Sorry I would like to ask, when it is at 0, can the handle move easily ?
@roguewavecoffeeco7 күн бұрын
At 0, you shouldnt be able to move the handle when calibrate properly.

This calibration is only needed after cleaning, right? Its not going to shift the 0 point during normal use?
@roguewavecoffeeco23 күн бұрын
That is correct for the most part. Some time when the grinder is really new, they might shift a couple of clicks during the breaking in period. However, it shouldn't affect performance. When check for calibration, you do need to brush and use the blower the clean the grinder first as any fines or residual grind can affect your 0 point.

@@roguewavecoffeeco Wow thanks for the detailed response, been considering either a J Ultra or a Kinu.

So if I calibrate my ZP6’s red dot to zero like you show, will the handle not spin at all If I turn the grinder sideways (like a Comandante at zero) or will there merely be burr rub against the metal bottom and you could tighten it further?
@roguewavecoffeeco23 күн бұрын
The handle shouldnt spin when the grinder is turned sideway

I know it varies from bean to bean but what grind setting on the ZP6 do you recommend for your Guatemala la Florida as a good starting point
@roguewavecoffeeco10 ай бұрын
For the La Florida I would start around 4-4.3
@coreybritton88239 ай бұрын
It's interesting to see everyone's starting point. For example the Rogue Wave website says 4.5 -5. I am guessing some of it has to do with how the ZP6 is calibrated? Some people calibrate off burr touch and some off burr lock. I know there are a million ways to brew but it seems some people are as low as threes and others as high as the fives.
@RiverbankHomestead9 ай бұрын
@@coreybritton8823 I'm above 6 for most of my brews

Thank you! and Tell me Please! should this knurled thumb be tightende till we hear clicks? because my k-max is aligned only before thumb start to click and Im confused :(
@roguewavecoffeeco6 ай бұрын
You can tighten the knurled thumb nut all the way, and see where it land (don't over tight). However, if the nut is lock right now at where it is then there is no issue. As long as the calibration doesn't move while grinder you are okay.
@richardwayne-u7k7 ай бұрын
hello there! so once you have aligned the red spot with the number 0, do we need to push down on the inner mechanism? or due to the user checking on the alignment, the inner mechanism has dropped down again and we can start using straight away? 🙆🏾♂️
@roguewavecoffeeco6 ай бұрын
You shouldnt have to push down on the inner mechanism. You could do that to check if there is any burr lock issue, but in general it is not necessary. You should be able to use it straight away.

Is it bad if it’s not calibrated? Can’t I just pretend wherever the resistance starts is 0?
@roguewavecoffeeco7 ай бұрын
It is not bad, and also not necessary, you can definitely make up your own '0' :)

@ so it was on the 8 right after the 0 when I went to turn it clockwise it wouldn’t move, I saw on Reddit it happened to a lot of people. I only checked it out because the instructions said to check
@roguewavecoffeeco23 күн бұрын
@@LouieVanP Thank you for the reference point on the setting the grinder come in. it could definitely be due to over-tight when you check for the 0 point. Are you able to remove the knurll thumb nut? If you are still having issue you should reach out to 1zpresso or the retailer. You could also try use a pair of pliers to remove the knurll thumbnut as well and then re assemble the grinder after. I know it is not ideal and can be frustrating.

bro, nice, which one did you get. I heard some are white dot, and the J-Ultra will have a pyramid dots indicator on the body instead of up top. Not every one is the same.
