I purchased both the K-Ultra and ZP6 Special and I liked the flavor profile way better on the ZP6. It helps with Dark Roast coffees and dials everything back without any bitterness. But the Ultra was definitely built better and probably about 25% less to manually grind. I highly recommend the ZP6 Special it really brings out all coffee profiles without big bold uneven flavors in your face. I just received my Lagom 01 with 102mm burrs and not liking the coffee flavor profile for medium to dark roast coffees. It’s really only light to medium light roasts that shine with the 102mm burrs.

have you tried the ZP6 for filter and comparing the cup vs the K ultra? I'm into both light and medium brews and have read that the ZP6 is great for light but not so much with medium ...whereas the K Ultra is more versatile cross the spectrum...sure it might not offer as much clarity as the ZP6 but it does offer more body....your thoughts? I just sold my ZP6 and am looking at the K Ultra for a replacement...kudos on the informative video btw!

Thanks for the comment. I've also read a lot of good things about the ZP6, especially for its clarity. The K-Ultra makes great coffee, but I’ve heard the flavor profiles and body are noticeably different between the two. I haven't tried the ZP6 yet so I can’t compare them side by side.

Definetly try the k ultra. Should be great for you

Dang you have like every major hand grinder out there. A lot of people seem to consider the k-ultra their go to hand grinder. How does the it compare to the S3 and R3? I have been messing around with the R3 burrs over the past month and it's giving me a persistent underlying astringency and is a bit lacking in sweetness. Thankfully I got it for uber cheap so I'm thinking of upgrading but I'm not sure between the S3, R3, X-lite and zp6.

For a daily hand grinder, I prioritize workflow, user experience, and speed. The K-ULTRA makes good coffee, maybe not as perfect as some higher-end models, but the flavor difference is minor, and its other benefits really shine. In terms of usability, I’d rank them: K-ULTRA > S3 > R3 > X-Lite. I haven't tried the ZP6 yet. The R3 has a sifter but it can get a bit messy, even if I don't sift the grounds. For pour-over, it’s more subjective. I like the X-Lite for light roasts. The S3 and K-ULTRA perform similarly, but they are great for medium or dark roasts, producing very sweet cups. The R3 is not as good as the others if compare the coffee side by side, but since the R3 is the most affordable, it stands out at its price point. For espresso, my order would be R3, K-ULTRA, X-Lite (a bit slow), and S3 (doesn’t grind fine enough). These are my personal experiences, hope it helps!

@@brewcoffeehome My preference is indeed medium to medium light roasts with emphasis on sweetness over things like flavor clarity. S3 it is.

If you can recommend, for espresso heavy user (but also wants versatility as i wanna use for pour over as well), which one should i choose in rank based on grinders that you have. Appreciate it! Because now i am super confused on what to get. The more i watch videos, the more i dont know what to get hahaha

Based on the hand grinders I have tried, I think the 1Zpresso X-Pro is worth considering. 12.5 microns per step, wider window for dialing in, but it has a smaller burr, so it takes a bit longer to grind for espresso. MHW-3Bomber's R3 and KinGrinder K6 are also good options for both brewing methods.

Would you recommend this for turkish coffee?
@0938890ErolАй бұрын
I would, definitely! It's very capable to grind that fine. Especially when you use the recipe from the Specialty Turkish Coffee champion, Turgay Yıldızli. I would recommend this recipe more then the traditional way of making turkish coffee.

The lovely coffee glasses at 5:02... What is the brand and are they do double walled?
@brewcoffeehome3 ай бұрын
It’s MHW-3BOMBER’s glass. I just did a quick search, and they do offer a double-wall glass.

looking premium grinder as companion of my C3esp pro .sharing between espresso and filter beans in 1 grinder is bothering me. after did some research i choose between K ultra and Kingrinder K6, have you tried the K6? people said that it's a budget version of K ultra

I just bought K6. I'll play around with it for a while and do some comparison with others.

Just a tiny advice, if you're using the K6 be very careful with the RDT, it tends to get rusty on its bearings soo easily @@brewcoffeehome
