I love that this movie has one of the most realistic fight sequences ever put to film. As you said, they're not like, super kung fu masters or anything, so when Brian and Roman have their fight at the start, there's like one, maybe two punches thrown, then they get each other in a headlock and scrabble around in the dirt for a bit, before collapsing, out of breath in the dirt.

This is actually my favorite one in the franchise for one simple reason: Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson's headbutting bromance is completely believable and fun. I think one of the worst things the franchise did was not have more scenes in the later movies where they interact the way they do in this. The reason, from what I've heard, is that they found out they were sleeping with the same extra on set while trying to get to know each other. So they became real life eskimo brothers and it shows on screen.

On the DVD I remember there was a short film in the extras that explained how Brian got that silver Skyline. At the end of the first film he had to get out of town quickly without a car because he'd given his orange Supra to Vin, so he got out of town, brought a shitter and did it up with what little money he had left, he used that car to win some money against unsuspecting local racers while he travelled, then either brought the Skyline with his winnings or won it off someone and modded it further. Can't quite remember it fully now, but it was kinda cool. I don't know why that wasn't all in this film at the beginning to be honest. As it is, he just turns up at the start of the film in this sick Skyline like "Hey, I got this car now, don't ask questions!"

@@rinus454 also. My school taught me a little bit about some other foreign countries and their histories. Other than being and allies and trade partners with Australia, the US has never really been involved there. So, I mean. How many countries in depth histories are we supposed to learn about? I can tell you it was a British colony where they sent prisoners for a while. I can name a few cities. Know about some dude named Ned wearing battle armor. I am an average American.
@rinus4543 жыл бұрын
@@tmclaug90 I'm not saying you are supposed to know anything about any country. I'm just stating the fact that the average Australian (or any Western nation, really) knows much more about the US than the average American knows about Australia. You say that the US hasn't been really involved there, but that's true the other way around too. I wasn't saying US citizens should know more about other countries (although that is definitely true), I'm saying that the average Australian knows a lot about the US, but that isn't true the other way around. Knowledge about the US is way more prevalent, it's not even close. I think it's good they taught you about different countries, but unless you're born outside the US, I don't think you could understand the gap I'm talking about here. It's nice you can name some things about Australia, but as a Dutch citizen.. I'm not exaggerating if I say I could talk about US history for hours. I could name most of your states, a good number of your presidents and vice-presidents, several historically significant events, I know about your holidays, which wars the US fought in, your senators and representatives.. I could talk about Watergate or the Clinton-scandal or the Bay of Pigs invasion even if I wasn't alive for any of those events nor were particularly relevant to our country. And btw.. none of those things were taught in school, with the exception of the World Wars, which the US obviously was involved in. I guess the point is this: for whatever reason US history is common knowledge, for any other country you're going to have to study it. Again, not saying that's bad or should be different, just saying that this is how it is.

That tiny little bit of pitch meeting in this video made me unbelievably happy. Pitch Meeting and Caravan of Garbage are my go to KZbin channels.

Love how early 2000's this movie is:) Even though I didn't grow up with this movie, because of tropes that it has, it gives me fond memories of the 2000's and my childhood.

I have never laughed as hard as I did during Maso's red-movie stand-up routine.

I came here to confess and apologize. I ran into an Australian guy the other day. I compulsively shouted Mr. Sunday/ Maso quotes & references at him as he tried to very politely disengage and walk away. I quite literally could not help myself. I would have been embarrassed if I hadn't been so oddly proud of myself for having so many phrases in my arsenal. And would you believe the caterer for the event we were at ... they were serving souvlakis. Just ... just legendary.

Oh, thank goodness!! Maso came down with the same sickness except his is specifically related to the oversaturated versions of this film. Perfecto.
