Fun/sad fact: when Optimus first transforms, with headphones you can hear him grumble "no Sam, run" (the subtitles said it too) which is telling me that Sam was killed. 😭 Why didn't Bay just show what happened to him, or explain? Bay takes a complete left turn with this movie and introduces a new character worse and less likeable than Sam, doesn't explain what happened to him, and expects us to just roll with it. Ugh.

And even these days "nearly everyone knows who he is" is a bit of a ridiculous thing to say. I've been a fan of KSI since like 2016, and I know he is a massive KZbinr, but ultimately KZbin is still a bit of a bubble. Think of it this way: if you were to stop random people over the age of 30 on the street and ask them who KSI was, most of them still wouldn't have a clue to this day. And now imagine you were back in 2014. Literally no one would know who he was back then :D So do you really think Michael Bay, the 50 year old Hollywood filmmaker, who's spent most of his adult life in the public eye and lived among actual A-list celebrities, had A) ever heard of some KZbin kid who plays FIFA in his bedroom or B) gave a shit about this random KZbin kid or the fact that he also happened to share a name with the evil corporation in his dumb new movie about dumb transforming robots? Ironically, growing up in Texas, I had a sex ed class in high school, and briefly in one class, we DID in fact cover that very specific Texas statute, and I think it's because the teacher didn't want the students to be scared that their high school relationships were going to age out and become illegal. And now, looking back on that... yeah, that's really weird, huh? EDIT: As I further think about it, Texas's legal age of consent is 17, so this ENTIRE conversation in this film is completely unnecessary and just plain weird.
