@@boogerz9030 Yeah, how dare they "steal" the name of some random KZbinr.... Especially when the name of said random KZbinr is made from 3 random letters that can literally be applied to any context possible and mean anything the film makers want it to mean :D Come on man, it was 2014, no one outside of the KZbin FIFA community even knew who the fuck KSI was back then...

@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodin994 ksi isnt really random. Nearly everyone knows who he is
@yourfriendlyneighborhoodin9943 жыл бұрын
@@boogerz9030 Yeah, I know he's famous now, but my point is that he wasn't back in 2014 which was when this film was made. No one knew who KSI back then. And even these days "nearly everyone knows who he is" is a bit of a ridiculous thing to say. I've been a fan of KSI since like 2016, and I know he is a massive KZbinr, but ultimately KZbin is still a bit of a bubble. Think of it this way: if you were to stop random people over the age of 30 on the street and ask them who KSI was, most of them still wouldn't have a clue to this day. And now imagine you were back in 2014. Literally no one would know who he was back then :D So do you really think Michael Bay, the 50 year old Hollywood filmmaker, who's spent most of his adult life in the public eye and lived among actual A-list celebrities, had A) ever heard of some KZbin kid who plays FIFA in his bedroom or B) gave a shit about this random KZbin kid or the fact that he also happened to share a name with the evil corporation in his dumb new movie about dumb transforming robots? Cade Yeager feels like he was meant to be smalltown loser... then they realised smalltowns are 'Murcan and copped out. They very easily could've made the protagonist a daughter trying to get away from her crappy, go nowhere dad. It's very weird that they even included a scene like this in the movie. Is it to explain Tessa's rebellious nature of her dating older men? It's still super creepy that they even have to go to lengths to explain why it's okay for a seventeen-year-old to date a twenty-year-old. Also, the age of consent in Texas is 17 making that scene completely unnecessary.

Actually, I used to teach social studies in Texas, and I always made sure that my students understood Texas laws in terms of age of consent. I wanted to make sure the boys understood that they could get in legal trouble at some point if they broke those laws, and I also wanted the girls to understand that if they dated someone older before they turned 17 that there was a possibility that their boyfriend could be charged with sexual assault of a minor. I also made sure they knew that it was the same way if the girl was older.

I think it makes perfect sense that an abusive, boyish meathead guy who makes pathetic gadgets would want to reverse engineer a transformer. And would later go on to last the whole battle when he should have been dead. Everything makes sense. Cade is a jock who was embarrassed to admit he was a nerd in high school, and that's why his inventions are so dumb. He's really far behind his Peers, with no mentor. But he actually is smart enough to hack the drone, so it works. Silly movie, but I like it more than the others.
