I’m a Sales Advisor at a high end retailer and it has been a month of me working here. I am do well but I always want to impress my Manager. I noticed latly coustermers who don’t have the money to shop in my store have been coming in and asking if we have sales or when the next sale is. My store prices are $50-$300… When someone wants to spent $20 I don’t know whjat to do and it makes me look bad that coustermers are walking out. HELP!!! Advice for this will be very helpful and I will share with the team your tips. Thank you!

If the customers coming into the store are not your ideal customers, it's time to reconnect to who your ideal customers is, and check if your merchandise mix and marketing message targets that customer, instead of everyone. Watch this video to clarify who it is you want to attract to the store: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hl67Y4tnZp5rfc0&lc=UgzLvzfmefEqUmQTb6R4AaABAg For the customers who are looking for a sale - you do need a sale strategy that caters to those customers, but it needs to be done in a specific way to be successful. I’m not sure if you work in Beauty or you work with merchandise like handbags ect But let’s say it’s beauty and you have a customer with a set budget come in a high end store looking for a deal that’s unrealistic . What I do is explain the benifits of the product . For example , if it’s a foundation and they are looking for a $20 foundation and the lowest foundation start at is $50 I will start to explain background about the product like how the foundation is very easy to work with and melts into the skin quicker meaning less time it will take to blend out . I’ll explain how it contains skin loving ingredients and where they come from like if it’s manufactured in Italy . I’ll explain that while it’s priced at $50 it’s worth the investment because a little goes a long way and you will be holding onto this product for a lot longer because you won’t run out quickly . I’ll ask them about any skin concerns they have and reccomend a product that eliminates some of those concerns . If all else fails I then have a method of addressing the elephant in the room I say “no problem at all I completely understand , I never push my clients to make a purchase . I always aim to give you a luxury experience and am here to assist you “ & then I follow up with offering them a sample as well as my contact info in case they love it and would like to contact me if they change their mind .
