I was rewatching the rating climb vids to improve my game and the best thing I noticed about Nelsi is that no matter the opponent level be it 400 or 2000+ he always makes his moves assuming that the opponent is going to make the best move possible. He doesn't underestimate and break protocol and play hope-chess even with the lower rated players even though he can and win with just a few moves if he did. Truly a master 🙏

Nelson, can you turn on the evaluation bar when analysing/reviewing the game, so we can get a grip of how unbalanced the position becomes after a mistake?
@williamsquires307050 минут бұрын
You can’t turn it on while playing, I don’t think. You can only turn it on in the after-game analysis.

Would love to see the alien gambit for this rating climb. I super chatted it during your last stream but you didn’t know the line. It’s in response to the caro. 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nd2 dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nf6 5. Ng5 h6 6. Nxf7 Kxf7 Engine refutes this opening but I have a 80% win rate with it at 1675 elo. The idea is black has severely weakened their light squares and you will get extremely rapid development after Bc4+, Nf3, and O-O. Pressure the e file and try to land a knight on e5 with check. Love the videos hope to see this opening in a future one!

Sometimes 1400's lose out of nowhere and sometimes they play like gms and you wonder who taught them playing like that. The only thing most of them have in common is that their time management isn't there yet. They need to slow down more in rapid games and they easily get like 200 rating points.

If there was something I had to take away from this, it is that system you played in game 3. Preventing the dark squared bishop from any play and it just being so solid makes it to appealing to me.

Lol, I just watched your 2022 rating climb video at the same rating range where they gave up 1 move before you Queening ;-)

Ummmmm I LOVE watching you play fast. When that 30 second mark hits and you compute and play moves faster than my eyes is just pure joy. Spends 2 minutes calculating move 4 but then can somehow calculate in a millisecond in the endgame…. 🤌🏽🤌🏽. Also sorry you didn’t get to enjoy being matched with Hikarus office chair with anyone around… had to enjoy that one alone 😂.

@@stevek2340it came from a old stream he did before. One of his opponents seemed like they were cheating. One of the things that were suspicious was the time usage. Afterwards, Nelson got a message from the person saying that the odd time usage was because he was cooking some rice. So it’s been a running joke on the channel ever since

As a 1495, it’s actually encouraging to see that this level could be challenging to a master chess player. It also reminds me to not get frustrated if it lose to a lower rated opponent, I think chess skills are tighter than we realize

I think the post-pandemic explosion in the popularity of chess has a big thing to do with it. On forums and Reddit I still see comments saying "You're only 1000? That means you barely know how to move the pieces!"
@williamblake73862 сағат бұрын
136 free wins against scrubs. Nelson robbed them for 136*5=680 points. How is that different from cheating with engines? I wonder if Nelson ever thought about it? Take you guess, chat. Or, or maybe im wrong and these 136 poor souls are simply happy to donate their elo for amusing Nelson's audience.

I think this account is set up so that those players will get their elo points back. If memory serves, this was mentioned in a past video.
