I like how you described starting the 2 Stroke. "when you're wondering why your still pedaling then you can stop." it is funny when you see a first timer pop the cluch, stop their feet and it just glug glug glugs to a stop. they look over like what the hell is wrong with this thing.

Love the description that you need to sweet talk the motor to get it started. First time I've heard that in my years of riding a 2 stroke, but it's 100% accurate. It does take a little trial and error to learn the sweet spot for just enough speed to turn the engine over.

I prefer 2 strokes because they are far more simpler to work on & can outlast the crappy transmissions that often come with the 4 stroke kits. Plus there are way more mods avalable. Having to mix oil with gas is worth it to me. 2 gallons of mixed gas can last me a long time. Plus it's super cheap to rebuild or replace an entire 2 stroke motor. 4 stroke motors by themselves cost as much or more than a complete 2 stroke kit & a transmission for it costs about as much as or more than the motor itself & usualy the motor outlasts the transmission on these 4 stroke motors. At least the transmission on a 2 stroke is built in & very easy to maintain & fix compared to 4 stroke transmissions.

As far as the 2 stroke ,once you break it in correctly,they will start up at about the 3rd peddle turn and the engine will take you from there . And as for the 4 stroke,they usually start up on the first try almost every time. Keep up the good work buddy,sincerely.

Look all I want to know is what engine is better for on road off road driving I'm looking at getting one but no one really talks about what engine will handle better for wear and tear of drinking your bike with a 4 stroke engine or a 2 stroke engine off and on road I've seen videos of people doing it and how they talk about there own options on which one happens to be better than the other but all I want to know is which one would be better for my situation is all, so does anyone here know which one of these engines is okay to drive on and off road for long or short periods of time and if there's a really good reason to take one over the other I was looking at the 4 strokes and the only thing I like about them is the mounting bracket to attach it to your bike and the only reason I'm wondering about the 2 strokes mounting bracket is will it hold on to the engine without breaking off on rough terrain? So if anyone has any good opponents I would like to hear them thanks nice video by the way some what helpful (:

I saw a review of a two-stroke on KZbin, the Crimson Tide 66/80 CC, and it talked about how you could only ride for 30 minutes at a time and you would have to stop and let the motor cooldown. That it was something inherent in the two-stroke, that it quickly overheats. Is that true? What about the four stroke, in that regard?
@Fred_the_1996

Nah it doesn't overheat that much, as long as you take it easy and don't exaggerate. The 4 stroke does heat up a lot less, but just take it easy, stop like once every hour and you're good. Or you could pour some water on the 2 stroke engine to cool it down lol

Most of the 4 stroke kits are the same Huasheng 49cc, but a few different names on the outer case, including "Flying Horse" . You can find them easily on eBay, and its usually the cheapest place. It includes all that is needed for the build. If you have some fab skills, and know what all to get, you can use a Harbor Freight 79cc (3hp), or even a 212cc (6.5HP) Also, some vendors sell a Honda GX35 kit, but its pricey, $300(USD) + .

Hmmm....I’ve been using a 49cc 4 stroke motor on my bike with a 4 stroke 5G dual chain transmission going on 4 years now...I’ve never had any problems with motor, or transmission. I even ride it daily. I just change the oil once a month and replace the spark plug every 3 months...I’ve had no problems with motor or transmission since I’ve installed it...

What's the difference well 2 strokes have to pedal and have no torque and are less reliable, the flying horse engine says 6 horsepower when it is literally half, and is compared with a 4 stroke 30cc smaller. And they sound like chainsaws.

4 strokes are the way to go. They are reliable and quiet and refined and smooth all of which the 2 strokes aren't. They might cost more initially but you save money and time by not having to go to the store for 2 stroke oil. They also don't stink or smoke as much as 2 strokes. And the power is very similar but the 4 stroke is easier to climb hills because it has more torque and the clutch can slip a little. It's also more convenient because id start the 4stroke and leave it on the porch to warm up with the 2 stroke you need to ride it down the block to get it started and the whole thing is inconvenient and takes time.

imporant to know that brakes vs engine goes along... you do not want children brakes on a v-8 for example.. it gotta match, and it has got to be SAFE! Not only for you, but imagine you run over a child one day, becaue you "like to be a rebel" haha... :D Nice video THUMBS UP! :)

disc brakes are your best friend when motorizing a bicycle, 2 stroke, 4 stroke, or electric. bicycle brakes leave a lot to be desired. like the ability to stop, for one.

@@HughesMotorized i've put mid drive electric motors on a couple of bicycles, one is a 26" mountain bike with v brakes, and the other is a 20" x games motobike with disc. the disc brake bike stops a lot better than the one with rim brakes. i haven't had the disc brake one long enough to wear out the brake pads yet. they both have freewheels in the rear. i haven't tried a drum brake on a bicycle. mebbe the next one i'll try them.
