I don't know if by accessibility you're meaning furniture size and shape... and I don't mean to make this sound flippant... But as a 4'10 woman (58" or 147cm) literally, there are ZERO furniture items that are comfortable or accessible to me because I am size of a 10 year old. Couches? I've never found a couch where I can actually sit against the cushions without my feet sticking straight out. Instead, I have to sit on the edge of a chair, couch, whatever in order for my feet to touch the floor. To give another example, I can sit all the way in my airplane seat without my feet touching the floor. (In a sense, that's a boon) But if I had money, I would absolutely decorate my living room with KID'S FURNITURE and then laugh when tall people sit on my tiny little people couch.

Nick honestly Thank you, your channel helps me make more informed choices when it comes to decor and furniture and I do see an enhancement in my aesthetics as I am wayyy pickier now (and I was already picky to begin with) ! But I am sooo overanalyzing even a minute detail having your voice in my head and it's delaying my decision-making process hella lot ! Damn this job is hard XD

My mom bought cream sofas, forgetting that she has 2 dozen grand kids who visit frequently. Those couches didn't last long! She gave them to me and my children decimated them. They never looked nice and we tried every cleaning tip we could find, even spilled water left a stain. What a nightmare.

What was the fabric? That sounds awful

my mom did the same when I was about 10yo. I was never allowed to put my feet onto the couch as to not get it dirty abd it was always covered in cream blankets so nobody would directly touch the couches surface. Honestly at that point nobody in the household dared to relax on that couch.

I love these videos. Not only do you tell us “mistakes” but you help us fix them and point us to more in depth videos when available. ❤

Hey Nick, no reason to complain about how fast you speak. There is a possibility to slow down while watching the video. I am proud to understand your videos in „real speed“ meanwhile 😂. Greetings from Bavaria

I love your fast speech! It reminds me of my family who are a bunch of talkers with interesting lives and experiences. When you get us all together, it's amazing!

My media console is exactly the same width as my TV. Not ideal, but it's solid walnut, I love it, and it's not going anywhere. Speakers on either side of it (don't judge -- hubby is an audiophile) make the whole thing somehow work. No visible cords!

I often set you tube videos to play at 1.5 or double speed as they're just tooooo slow / time consuming at normal speed. I twice checked if I still had that setting on for this video. Nope ..... Nick really does pile in the content at normal speed (unless he speeds it up a wee but before uploading). You need to be awake and alert and with it absorb the vast amount of info he's sharing. Love it! 😀

I would suggest one exception to the cropped curtains rule - they are better if there's a radiator right under the window, as is the case in a lot of older homes (in the UK at least, I can't speak for elsewhere). If you have full length curtains, you have to choose between all the heat being funneled right out the window (especially if you have thick curtains that insulate well) or awkwardly piling up your curtains on top of the radiator every night through the colder months, which leads to them getting very creased and picking up every speck of dust from the top of the radiator. I'll take an effectively heated home over slightly a more aesthetically pleasing window setup every time.

Well in US almost all homes are made from wood so heating element like like a radiator (as the name imply it radiate heat) are not efficient as the wall have no thermal capacity. So often there is ventilation system for force hot air and cooling sometimes. UK and EU lean to brick, stone and concrete homes were they are less drafty, the insulation is on the outside. And use more thermal radiation to heat up the walls. For a weekend homes where you need to heat up the room fast, you use forced air and insulation on the inside. As brick and concrete have double the heat capacity then steel, so it take long to heat up but they also have good R value. And if you clap some outside insulation you basically create a thermal battery. Perfect for fireplace as they fluctuate with the heat output and you catch the excess. And wont get cold immediately as the fire go out. We put ours fireplace in the thick brick baring wall and the wall feel warm even after 4-6 ours after the fire go out. We have no such thing as cold mornings. Also the fireplace is so big and can take such a big thick log and we can close it so much it will burn for almost 6 hours. Often when we wake up there are pleny of embers to start it again.

For the TV over the fireplace, but a MantleMount! It can be above the fireplace when not in use and you can pull it down when you’re watching TV.

Omg I can't believe people didn't like your color palette video?!! It inspired my living room/ kitchen paint project (open concept room) and imho helped me solve my honey oak problem (my floors are orange wood, my trim is orange wood, my doors are orange wood, my cabinets are orange wood, and I can't afford to replace it all rn... But now the orange fits nicely with the color palette!❤❤) Seriously, a game changer. I should send you a message with pics when it's done (I am hand painting a few decorative things because I like to use my art degree for something sometimes.)
