I will share this with my friends. I want more people to benefit from your classy, and high quality fitness program. Update: I've only been with this channel for a month but it feels like a much much longer time. I've benefited so much from your versatile, high quality workouts. I like how there is good variety for when I don't have time for a full length barre and center; it's a little bit of everything and gets in the movement I crave. Also appreciate the clarity/quality and choice of music (overlay versus the tin-can live sound, and non "classic ballet" accompaniment)

Plie (bend the knees) and stretch the legs up as you press up to the balls of the feet! Works the same muscles without the impact 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I was looking for a mat to protect my hardwood during my ballet exercises, so I read your description and learned about gorilla mats. Thanks for sharing! I was afraid they would be too “sticky” but based on your video it seems to work well

I don't recommend gorilla mats for classical Ballet barre or ballet class...but they're fabulous for exercises like this, pilates, yoga, or any workout with sneakers. If you want a more ballet friendly floor, I'd go with a slab of marley. Try rubberflooringinc.com :)

Definitely! It may look easy but that's the most difficult part. I'm always a sweaty mess at the end of my ballet sessions lol. If you do these exercises with the right posture and engage your muscles, you will be so sore. General advice for posture: Really engage your core and make sure your back is straight and shoulders pulled back. For the legs, turn your feet out as comfortably as possible (don't push it too far back, you should be able to rest your feet on the arch of your foot while keeping your foot relaxed) to make sure you're using your inner thighs and not your knees. If you're new to barre, take your time to get a feel for the exercises. I just started with ballet and it takes time to get used to but after a month I'm already much stronger!

The truth is, ANY workout where you exert yourself and work up a sweat will help you lose weight (when coupled with healthy eating). That’s why it’s so important to find a form of exercise that you enjoy! Yes, Pilates and ballet based workouts are great for shedding weight and sculpting long lean muscles because the movements generally combined strengthening and stretching exercises…but the goal is to just MOVE your body. No ONE specific workout will do magic…so please beware of the KZbinrs out there who take advantage of people who simply don’t know any better and claim that a specific workout of theirs will give you a six pack in 10 minutes - LIES!!! If losing weight and being fit was THAT easy, EVERYONE would be slim and fit! It takes time, effort, dedication, and consistency. Practice self-love and self-care everyday by moving your body - whether that’s doing a KZbin workout or going on a walk or a swim…whatever you enjoy! Fuel your body with good food, don’t over eat, drink plenty of water, and get ample sleep! That’s how you reach your goals! 😘💖💪🏼
