There's a height limit for the back seats. I think it's around 1.10m (about an 8yo child height), that's for the back glass when you close the trunk (so they dont get knocked out and the glass doesn't break on their head)

I am thinking about buying the TT for my first car. I love the look and the 2000's TT is very affordable. Any thoughts?

As someone who's got a mk1 TT as their first car I'd recommend first setting your budget and your willingness and ability to work on the car yourself and then decide on what spectrum of the market you'd be interested in. For example if you have a tight budget but like to work on cars go for a cheap one and you'll love it, but you have to be very aware of the fact that it will break. For example I bought the cheapest one in Germany for 1.500€ and spent about 400€ fixing it up myself (only parts since I didn't have to pay for my own labour) and for that kind of month you really can't go wrong, plus they're incredibly cool and fun to drive

I’m in the same spot! In my case my budget is tight and I do not intend to do much work on it myself. Seems like my best bet is to wait around for a low mileage, well maintained one to come up for sale and pay a bit more. Here in LA seems about 6K is reasonable. Thoughts? I’ll def check out the subreddit!

Im 5'2 and weight 167 so im short enough to scoot the seat up more thena raller person. Can a car seat fit back there? And i have a univerlse gt wing... Im hoping i can install it in here cus i dont feel like dying. Im not trying to speed in this car. Is it safe to be on the e state?

The cup holder is flimsy because it is not tightened properly, the shifter feels like shit because the linkage, or some other part needs changing, i have the same model TT, it has problems, but not particularly these, because it is maintained properly. Also the head unit can be replaced by a monkey, with a newer one. :)

not trying to be that guy , but from my experience the 1.8T is really unreliable , especially in heavier vehicles (A6) even in later audi vehicles the 1.8T remained "the bad engine" , things to check on the 1.8T: oil pump(those tend to get clogged up and fail) , timimg belt (tends to fail prematurelly), turbos (the stock turbo will fail easily if boost is turned up) , do not use cheap oil! , also good to know the dials are known to fail and when they do they are going to be expensive and you wont be able to check the engine codes, take care guys

Bit of a late commenter, i have seen these engines go for even 400 000kms, some known problems are there, sure, but it is such a simple engine, with everyone tuning it to the skies, and most mechanics working on it, everyone knows their possible failures, problems by now, and also, properly maintained ones go for long time.

if this is an example of how this dealer details their cars to put on the lot, they do a shit job. Look at all the garbage between the seat and the center console. I can only imagine how they service their cars before sale.
