Exactly the problem I have been trying to diagnosing with my 97 G16. perfect video. Would you replace both axles at the same time even if the other was OK? what about the transmission/gear box fluid? In the 15 years I have owned my cart I have never thought to check this fluid.

If you pull the axle, replace the bearing. They cost about $10.00. Not worth a future headache.

Hey kevin my golf cart just crank wont start and seems like the gas is NOT going through the fuel filter. IDK if its the gas pump or need a carb clean. It was running good but i left it sitting for about 1 month and now it just cranks and spin. Oh by the way when i keep giving it gas and it just spins for a couple times a makes one POP noise out the exhaust like a gun shot lol after multiple times trying but only one time. Thxs

What makes the gas engines so quiet compared to regular engines like a go kart or something. Lawn mower, pressure washer etc. is it just the exhaust?

So I decided to replace the bearings, and what I received had a rubber seal with it (a donut that goes around the axle, flat on one side and cupped on the other). Wondering where this seal goes because in your video there is no seal. does this go inside the 2nd ring clip (which you did not remove in this video), or outside the the last ring clip (the one you removed and replaced to hold the bearing in). Also, once the bearing and axle is replaced, what about transmission fluid in the gear box?

I need to replace the input shaft bearings on a Yamaha g16a gas cart. I've ordered the bearings and seal and was wondering what the difficulty level is on the project? Any info will help. Can't find video footage for it.

My 2005 ezgo just got both back wheel bearings replaced and my passenger back wheel seems like it has wobble I jack it up on that corner and there isn’t any play could it be a bent axle thanks and my cart igniter ground was not hooked up is why it wouldn’t run thanks for your help
@Kevinsgolfcarts3 жыл бұрын
Make sure the lug nuts are installed correctly. The taper of the lug nut is supposed to be installed towards the wheel. Also check and make sure the lugs are centered in the lug hole. Sometimes they will tighten off-center and cause the wheel to wobble. The ground being disconnected will cause issues.
@stopibeastin3 жыл бұрын
@@Kevinsgolfcarts I’ll check the lugs I took tire off earlier and checked everything and I didn’t check the lugs but I’ll check them I made sure the nuts were tightened correctly but still had wobble just put new wheel bearing on rear it had wobble before I did that and still does but I’ll check the lugs next behind the hub

You may have a bent axle or wheel. If the axle is bent, the repair shop should of noticed that when they changed the bearings.

im planning a world record trip on my G16 gas cart, any recommendations on where i could get parts to redo all the barrings and axles. before setting off on the 6,500+KM ride for charity from Fredericton NB down to hamilton Ontario then back up to Vancouver. preferably somewhere that ships to Canada, and won't kill me in conversion rates international shipping and duty? as yes it is for charity but the goal of using the cart is to show the Canadian government that carts can be a suitable mobility aid. for disabled people like me, my cart is my daily driver in 3.5 months ive put 70 KM on it.

back again i shouldve addressed that noise months ago i broke forward gear out of my cart. took off from a stop sign there was a loud clunk then you could hear parts bouncing around in the case then when i stopped another loud clunk and there was no more forward movement. appon inspection after taking the body off the aftermarket engine had slid back on the engine plate and wahitting the cart govonor to the point it broke off it still has reverse so im thinking i only broke the forward gear at the guide collar. now i just have to pull the trans and split the case to change the fluid, pull out the broken gear and replace. yeah past matt youre a dumb ass the input shaft lost all its teeth

My cart has a bad bounce when driving down a paved road. I tried a different tire. That did not fix it. I inspected the hub and found that between studs there’s was no more than10 thousandths difference. Is that enough to make it bounce? I purchase two new hubs for my model and the hubs that came are not only cheaper material, but they don’t match my cart at all. On numerous web sites it shows a hub for my year and model, that looks different than what I have. I look at ez go hubs and they look just like the one on my Yamaha. So confusing. My question is, could that 10 thousandths be the reason my cart bounces? I looked at the axle spin with hub off and I couldn’t see the shaft wobble at all. I’m lost at this point and need help.
@Kevinsgolfcarts4 жыл бұрын
When tightening the lug nuts, go slow. Make sure the lug nut taper is towards the wheel. In my experience, people put the lug nuts on with the tapered side facing out. This is wrong. It needs to face it. Golf cart wheels are centered on the hub with the lug nuts. If the lug nuts aren't tightened correctly, the wheel can be off-center and cause a wobble.

Where would you suggest to get books or online course for golf cart repair. I have been repairing all sorts of small engines but golf carts are a beast of their own. I have done carbs on them but want to learn more. Besides watching your videos which are awsome and very informative. Thank you
@Kevinsgolfcarts6 жыл бұрын
I couldn't really help you source information since I learned everything on my own. I worked at a golf course for 10 years as the assistant mechanic and picked up a lot of knowledge there. I didn't have any books or online courses. I didn't even really use KZbin to learn anything about carts. You can always look for the service and parts manuals for any make cart and read it a few times. Thats what I would do during our downtime at the course. You can find repair guides from the manufacturers somewhere on the net, it just takes a bit of digging. I hope this helps.

Great video Kevin. I’ve got an EZGO 1200 TXT with fuel in the oil any ideas where I can start looking to solve the problem mate ?
@Kevinsgolfcarts6 жыл бұрын
It sounds like fuel is leaking past the carb while the cart is not being used. I see this a lot with the Kawasaki engines. The float valve gets stuck open just enough to allow fuel to flow past it flooding the carb and dripping down through the intake into the crankcase.
