This is what I like about ASEAN. Every time we argue with each other, when it matters, our solidarity is strong SEA is indeed a very warm place both the community and the weather.

At that time people didn't even know what tsunami is, they assumed it was just normal flash flood. That's why in some videos you see people just walking casually even as the water is approaching

tiap taun, Jepang selalu ada peringatan khusus mengenang gempa dahsyat tahun 2010, online terutama itu bikin aku iri, karena di sini gua gak yakin separo penduduk (mau) nginget Aceh 2004, Lombok, Palu, Donggala 2018

Di Aceh selalu dibuat acara peringatan tsunami, setiap tanggal 26 Desember. Hanya absen ketika pandemi saja.

Just be grateful to those who are alive today, be grateful for your life with people you love around you. Be grateful you weren't there, or at least you probably survived this tsunami. It was last 2 decades' Christmas, the news that shocked not only Indonesia, but the entire world. I remember the pain watching the news in Indonesia back then, all streets and rivers covered with not only debris, but dead bodies, a scene similar in the Walking Dead.

When the 2004 Aceh Tsunami happened, I was working on a project in Timika, Papua. The conditions in Timika were also very chaotic due to the Religious War between Muslims and Christians in Ambon, Maluku (1999-2002). This caused Muslims fled to Makassar, and Christians fled to Timika. At Pomako Beach, I looked out to sea and wondered why Indonesia was so chaotic at that time. That motivated me to participate in rebuilding Indonesia until today.

So, it's a 1500 years cycle. That's actually quite often even by the age of homo sapiens species.

Before thee We sent (Messengers) to many nations, and We afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity that they might learn humility. (42) When the suffering reached them from Us, why then did they not learn humility? On the contrary their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them. (43) But when they forget the warning they had received, We opened to them the gates of all (good) things, until, in the midst of their enjoyment of Our gifts, on a sudden, We called them to account, when lo! they were plunged in despair! (44)

Tsunami waktu itu menandakan betapa lemahnya negara ini. Bayangkan, tsunami sedahsyat itu baru diketahui oleh jakarta, hampir 24 jam atau lebih setelah kejadian.....
@askarsepoi11 сағат бұрын
Bahkan semua negara asean hingga sri lanka juga ada masalah sama. Langkawi dan pulau pinang di Malaysia, phuket dan selatan Thailand juga tidak bersedia kerana tidak ada informasi..

Saya pikir nggak sampai 24 jam.
