My vent quit blowing. I freaked out. Came to KZbin watched your video and it was as simple as the hose came off just like yours. Thanks for putting this on KZbin. It saved me a lot of work and money.

Thank you very much for posting this video. I replaced my entire a/c system about 7 years ago because of black death. It cost me $1200. My vents stopped blowing and I was thinking I was going to have to do a complete replacement again. I watched your video about the little vacuum hose and sure enough that was it. I put it back on and everything is working great. Thank you and KZbin.

The gray vacuum line in this video should be contacted to the back of the heater core control valve. Not the top. All that is doing is plugging the vacuum line. Connect it to the front of the valve for proper installation. its function is to cut off the hot antifreeze from going into the heater core when the air conditioning is on.

Thank you so much for your video. My AC in my truck just did the exact same thing and 96° F temperature. I stopped along side of the road and popped my hood and Sharon off my tube was broken off. I removed the rubber connector and pushed the broken out piece, and reconnected the two. Now my AC is blowing again through my vent. Thank you again.

I have a 2003 F250 5.4L 2V, Gas. My A/C would move to defrost under acceleration or heavy load (up hills). Issue was with the vacuum solenoid. There is no vacuum pump on a gas, no matter what the internet says! Part I used was Dorman 600-402 4WD Hub Locking Solenoid

Ha! Wife has been complaining for a few weeks that when she drives the truck (which is rarely) AC is stuck in defrost. I really didn't want to dig into the system, so KZbin here I come. The first couple vids were standard issues (pump, EGR, ...), but then I stumbled onto this one. When you got to the part about the hose being disconnected back by the oil fill, the lightbulb went on: I had recently replaced the glow plugs, which meant I'd taken the fender liner out, which is likely when this happened. Oila' - problem solved. THANKS!

I do have question regarding the part close to your firewall. Where your vacuum line is plugged into is the vertical nipple towards the back, what’s in the front horizontal position? The vertical one on mine has nothing but the line going to the front horizontal nipple is broke. I rigged a small fuel line and it didn’t help.

I see that vacuum line connected to the front and to the back. Which is correct? I've been over mine new vacuum pump/ solenoid I capped off the vacuum lines to my hubs and my AC works but it's a weird situation... I put it in 4x4 it'll blow out the face vents for a couple of minutes then switches back to defrost I put it in two wheel drive it switches back to face vents I do that over and over any ideas

I was experiencing the exact same symptoms this morning with my AC only blowing through the top defrost vents in my 2007 F250. Low and behold I just went out there and discovered the same vacuum line was disconnected from the exact spot as in the video. I plugged it back on and my truck's AC blows through the correct vent settings now. It turns out that inset the correct location (even though it does fix the problem)/ The correct location can be seen and explained in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmbFo4KCbrCHerc at exactly 2:00. Thank you for your informative video and possibly saving me a trip to get it looked at!
