I have an 07 as well, 56,000 miles, the bike is still AMAZING! Smile every time I ride it. The most reliable bike I've ever owned, it does drink a little oil. Its getting a little long in the tooth, been test riding possible replacements, I have test rode MANY bikes, there's nothing reasonably priced that I'll replace it with, all these new bikes seem like a downgrade, even the new Tiger 900 Sport. All bells, whistles and gimmicks don't make it a great bike. Guess I'll keep it till the wheels LITERALLY fall off.
@TRCAdventures
@TRCAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
I feel the same, it seems like manufactures are more focused on gimmicks rather than the bike. I picked up a 2017 KTM 1090 adventure R, as it seems to have the least number of gimmicks, the Yamaha super Tenere and Tenere 700 have done well to stay clear of too many as well

Yes, a white '07 ABS model that I picked up a few months ago from a friend who was the original owner. There is also a "13 1200GS in the garage but I'm enjoying the Tiger so much more. Love the road feel and it's confident manner. Your review is spot on, excellent brakes and comfort. I hope I don't have to get down to just one bike........... All the best.

Had my 2012 se 1050 some time now and I can honestly say I can’t fault anything about the bike …. Fast powerful handles insanely good and amazing for long rides .. just a great bike .. and not that heavy like some people say .. I’m 6.ft 2 and I can flat foot and it fits me perfect .. get a tall screen is my only advice

First, awesome review, thank you for shedding light on these boomer sport touring sleepers. I owned a 2010 1050 for several years until a soccer mom snapped my tibia. The best motorcycle I've ever owned is the 1050 Tiger. The triple is just fantastic. Predictable power, that pulls all day. Tame enough to forgive the uninitiated; responsive enough to excite when roused. The 1050, in my opinion, is among the best in the sport touring / I wish I were an adventure bike category. If A to B is a L O N G way, the stock 1050 will provide enthusiastic comfort for the duration. These aging Tigers need good forever homes. I applaud you shedding light on then. Millenials take note, these bikes are fantastic and well worth the price they're clinging to.

My Tiger isn't predicable, lol especially when its cooler outside. Power comes on hard and fast, which rain and tight right hand turns can be 'interesting". And god I love this bike! It has a personality and characteristics. Many new bikes lack that, their just so "polished" to where they're not interesting, their like appliances.

you will not be disappointed, if you are on the heavy side (I'm 265 no gear) you should have your forks reworked to compensate for the weight. ( I will be upgrading my rear shock next). after that you can ride it across the country and back (like I did), you can tear up you local backroads (like I do), you can even ride to your grocery store to do your shopping (with a top case). Enjoy. Ride to Live, Live to Ride.

I have a 2009 Tiger 1050. Love it, best bike I’ve ever had and I’ve a few. The only downside are the headlights which are terrible…so I’ve fitted aftermarket spotlights which help. I also found the stock rear suspension was a bit too bouncy so I replaced the rear shock to an adjustable unit.

I smoke Ducati's, Aprilia's, BMW's on the backroads all day long on my 2007 1050, even had guys get off their Touno (yes I want one), do a walk around my bike and say "WOW, you really throw that thing into the corners" If there was ever a sleeper bike, this is it, so sad they stopped selling them in USA. @TRCAdventures
@TRCAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Ahh the 675 Yes I have ridden a few, and actually the worst bike from Triumph is the new Scrambler 1200XE Yikes what the hell were they thinking, that bike nearly made me loose the will to ride, I'm willing to say they may have moved away from the ways of the past and NOW marketing and sales seem to have become the foundation of there DMA. that 675 is actually quite comfortable for the class of bike it is, ride a GSXR 600 or 750, or the Yamaha YZF -6 and you may start to think that Daytona is quite comfy!!! Thanks for Checking out the Video!

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere but could you write a few comments comparing this with the 955i Tiger you reviewed on your channel previously please?
@TRCAdventures
@TRCAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
No problem! The two bikes may seem quite similar at first but they are completely different machines. Though it is good to compare the two, bottom line the 1050 is a better bike, but by how much! And would I still pick the 1050 over the 955i? Both motors are smooth and provide plenty of power, the 1050 has more grunt and seems to pull better and farther in to the rev range. The suspension on the 995i feels good and works well but the 1050 has better forks (inverted cartage fork) a better shock, stronger swing arm and stiffer frame. Both are quite comfortable with great riding ergonomics with the 1050 having slightly better wind protection for longer rides. The looks, I tend to like the looks of the 955i better as it now feels retro Dakar, and has a hard core rider look! And I love the two round headlights! So in the end what would I pick, if they were in the same condition……………probably the 955i because “in the end” I would be picking an older bike like this, not because it’s the best, or most modern, it would be the cool factor! And the 955i is just a bit cooler and they would both make for a fantastic ride!

@TRCAdventures

Thank for checking out the video, the wind protection is good, I think! for standing im not looking for wind protection I would care more about visibility and no obstructions to my view. with that said people differ in what they like in wind protection so its hard to say what is right for each rider.

@Solrak8O 4 жыл бұрын
I've owned a 2011 Tiger 1050 SE, great sport tourer. Would I take it off road, not really. These 1050 tigers are designed more for the road due to non spoked wheels and 17" front wheel. Go the Tiger 800 or 1200 if you want better off-road capability
@TRCAdventures
@TRCAdventures 4 жыл бұрын
not sure the 800 is better off road that this, but that would be a great test and long debate, both can do well for two track and some light single track. you will need to bring a bucket of skill to take the 1200 more off road than this bike! Personally I would love to take them all farther than they should probably go, lots of fun!

the 1050s are great, but don't give up on your bike, check out aftermarket fairings, with a little reaseach you can find them made in the same city as OEM, likely the same as OEM for much less. most sell through ebay, it will take about 6 weeks to get them, we have had great results. sounds like a hard choice, we don't get many of the Benelli's in the US, but it looks like a cool bike, butween the Tiger and the Multistrada 1000ds (I have a video on that bike as well kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpSampR5eb6fj5I for easy of use and cost of maintenance and an all around friendlier bike to ride I would pick the Tiger. The Multistrada 1000ds is a good bike for an investment as the prices just keep going up, they get a lot of attention and are a bit more aggressive in the power delivery, exciting bike to ride. if it were my everyday bike, the Triumph Tiger would be my best choice in the end what ever makes your hart the happiest should be the bike of choice!
