Always been your silent admirer, respect for your craftmanship-because i think what you're doing is art, not just a job. You inspired me to change the clutch at my dads Renault 12 ( classic car), havent been changed for 25 years, my old man changed it last time.....so my hat off to you sir!

My first legal car was a Renault 12, OMG, i was the bees knees, no more bus stops, no more walking miles to get home, way back in '86 I think I paid about £150 for it, faded green paint and the drivers door dropped a good inch, i thought it was a Rolls Royce, i went onto a silver one with red seats, a real step up, best days of my life, if only i could go back.

As usual, this video was superb. The editing was great! The close ups and lighting were so good!! Man I love that Milwaukee cutting tool. U really tore into that flywheel. Don’t mess with Kevin. I am gonna get the smaller M12 one. So handy for cutting and grinding. Seems like a nice car to work on. I don’t really like the inner CV joints. All the bolts r kind of a pain. That new floor jack is sweet with the quick up feature. It was my morning wake up

Thanks bill. It’s definitely a great grinder. But the cutting discs are the ones. They are made from fibre and resin. And will slice through any hardened steel like butter.

Love any 1.9 tdi pd DMF and clutch change. Can smash them out in about 3 hours now. I never jack the car up until iv done everything under the bonnet though because its too high after jacked up I find. Start up top then do underneath after. Reverse order when going back in and jack down before finishing up top. How come you go so easy on the lower ball joint lug nuts? Have you sheared them before easily? I always use wd40 and a wire brush on drill to clean them but use full power out with no probs. Your experience and hindsight is extensive by now!

@blatt Breaking News !!!! Any mechanic in the whole world use a torque wrench for that kind of job. Only people who have never messed up their hand working on a car leave comment like you did... Go in a workshop and take a look : experience and knowledge are the torque wrench of mechanics. Only some job which need to use a torque wrench (head gasket replacement for example)
