this was the world launch for the S Class in Toronto. First time it was held outside on Europe. Nice compliment to Toronto and Canada . 700 journalist from all over the world came to see and drive the car and the simulator. I drove the simulator at the four Seasons hotel in Toronto and it was awesome.There are probably 700 TV videos created for their own countries and Dutch was just one of them

Should have driven the W126 560 SEL in stead of 420. My 560 has at least three buttons. Also two for moving and heating the couch.

ik heb deze review nu voor het eerst bekeken, net nu een nieuwe generatie van de BMW 7-Reeks is gelanceerd. En in het licht daarvan moest ik toch glimlachen om Werners uitspraak dat in dit (topklasse)segment de recentste auto vaak de beste is. Hoewel de eerste berichten anders beloofden, vind ik de nieuwe 7-Reeks namelijk helemaal niet beter dan deze S-Klasse, integendeel zelfs. BMW slaat ons uiteraard helemaal murw met nieuwe technologie die de S-Klasse (nog) niet heeft, maar zodra je verder gaat kijken dan dat, wordt pijnlijk duidelijk dat de 7 er allesbehalve speciaal uitziet (terwijl de S wél de tijdloze klasse uitstraalt die je mag verwachten van een limousine) en aan de binnenkant zo over-the-top is dat je er waarschijnlijk schele hoofdpijn van krijgt. Neen hoor, wat mij betreft is de S zonder meer de koning van dit segment. Doet er niet toe of hij het recentste model is of niet. Het is weliswaar een kwestie van smaak (uiteraard is zo'n nieuwe 7 een schitterende auto), maar geen enkele andere constructeur past zo goed bij dit topsegment als Mercedes. Het merk BMW valt met zijn sportieve DNA veel moeilijker te rijmen met zo'n limousine. Hetzelfde geldt voor Audi met zijn A8, die sinds jaar en dag meer dynamisch georiënteerd is. Met andere woorden: bij Mercedes gaat de rekensom gewoon mooier op :)
