Hyundai is the most technologically advanced motor company in the world. They manufacture high tech parts for advanced aircraft and fighter jets for Lockheed Martin and Boeing. No other car maker has the same level of technology. Hyundai cars are extremely reliable and high quality.

StealthTechz Agreed! I bought the 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L V6 and it's seriously a superior ride over my previous car, a BMW 535d. No more numb feeling in the handling which was seen in Hyundai cars before. Hyundai has come a long way. Some people consider Hyundai to be a more premium brand than Toyota and Mazda.
@davidbennett91989 жыл бұрын
StealthTechz Korea is more technologically advanced than Japan. Look at Korean electronics and how they've overtaken Japan.
@0SoulxReaper09 жыл бұрын
StealthTechz If you replaced Hyundai with a leading Japanese brand you would be correct, otherwise... good luck with that. Quality and Korean cars do not belong in the same sentence without a not lol.

I too did a road trip in the base 3.8 RWD when I had it in for review last month. I did about 750 miles on my road trip to announce for the season finale for the Canadian Superbike Championship. I think I did about 29-30mpg for the trip, though I'd have to check my notes to be sure. Hey, for $38K it's on HELL of a deal, and a pretty solid choice. Like you said if you don't need no stinking (luxury) badges, it's hard not to choose this one.

Hey Tom - Great review as always. While I love the look of the new Genesis I can't escape the terrible customer service I have had on my own 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid so I would never get one of these new ones. It's a great looking car, too bad they didn't give you one with all the options. Great resourceful videography as well. I know it's hard to get moving car shots and the like and when folks are cooperative it helps 10 fold. Looking forward to the next one!

Nice looking car. That large front grille definitely reminds me of an Audi, which I'm sure is no coincidence. I agree with you about the Genesis coupe: why does Hyundai call the coupe a "Genesis" when it is so unlike the Genesis sedan?

Wouldn't take more than a couple of minutes with a heat gun to take that badge off the back. :-) The Genesis is actually a very nice car. I was rather impressed by the one I got to drive. My only complaint is that I didn't have two free weeks and an unlimited gas card.

A more modern and phonetically accurate transliteration of 현대 is Hyeondae. Two syllables Hyon - and day but clip the eee sound at the end of day.

FejjNagaf Superbowl Ad from 2009 (CEOs of other manufacturers are yelling "Hyundai" over and over again). Tech Nick What country do you reside in? If it's outside the US or Canada, the pronunciation is different (as it always has been).
@DrivenCarReviews10 жыл бұрын
In the US, the pronunciation is Hun-day, which rhymes with Sunday. This is what Hyundai wants. It's on their US website, it's in their ads, that's how their press folks say it here in the states. There are different pronunciations of many brands all over the world. My Canadian friends drive a Mass-da 3, in the US I drive a Mahz-da Miata (which is MX-5 everywhere else). Celebrate the differences!
