2015 Subaru Outback driving through a Mt. Baldy snowstorm - January 29, 2021

A big storm rolled in overnight. I had to get to the top of the road and my Subie didn't have any issues. I kept good traction even when going up the switchbacks. Didn't really use X-Mode much either.

Beautiful scenery 👍🏻 my wife has a Forester (diesel manual) here in the U.K. just fitted Michelin CC2s it’s nice to know it would cope with these type of conditions of we get them. 🇬🇧

Snowstorm? My Forester SG5 made 70cm in winter 2021. When I got stuck at aprox. 80cm there was no help until a awd tractor with nearly 150cm tires an 5cm threads came by. I'm sure an outback will perform slightly simular.

@@jamespostle6894 but it makes a huge difference where the snow is supplanted. Aside or under the car. My '00 Audi Allroad get nearly 100% under the car an there's no real compensation from air suspension and 500kg more body weight. I'm really curious about the snow performance of my Pajero Sport K96W. Could be the ideal between ground clearance, weight and powertrain. 15 meters fir trees and coniferes with aprox. 30cm trunk diameter were no problem without any additional digging. For sure with BF KO2 and 35t towrope. The Forester SG5 had 100% wheelspin at 10cm coniferes.

Just normal drive D? Did you have to use 1st or 2nd gear only at any time?

I didn't use them. Sometimes if it's snowing the highway patrol won't let you up unless you bring them.

The Subarus are nice but they have the crappy cvt transmissions
