In every video Steve uploads, I always look forward to moments like 5:20 when we taps the spoon on the cup and it gives off a melody sort of sound. Little editing like that makes me appreciate these videos.

Hi Steve, I'm from New Zealand, I've been watching your vids for a while they're great! Whittakers is our very own chocolate company and they're amazing. That wee bar you ate is exactly what we can get in stores, doesn't look to have been changed for the MRE at all. I'm surprised they don't put the Whittakers peanut slab in there instead. It's a classic! Keep up the good work dude!

It's funny, the very first time i heard Steve's voice i HATED it, it sounded like it was going to be some dudebro-type of voice, but I quickly turned around on that. Yeah, this is relaxing talk......opening, studying and enjoying preserved food packets from around the world......such a serene attitude towards food packets. There is a weird enjoyment in subsisting, for a time, on shelf-stable MRE packs. Watching someone else enjoying this type of thing helps it seem like a legit hobby.

it would be typical of the NZDF to have half of it be stuff you can get at the local supermarket xD all except the retort pouches(and contents) and the heater can be found at any supermarket(and probably the custard in the pouch) Also, hot custard is best by itself.

Custard is its own thing, it would be wrong to lump it in with a "pudding" or "dessert". Custard is the dream for sure... would be interesting to try the MRE and compare it to fresh made custard which is possibly something you can't do since you're unfamiliar with custard? Nice gusset! Dude, your shows are getting better and better! Crashed out on the sofa, spliff, glass of red and one of the best yet! Great start to my evening. So much more than a rat pack review. Cheers, man! 🙏

Hey Steve, big fan of your work. I love how you get into detail about how these MREs taste. I'm curious though, how do you feel after eating these Mres? What type of effect do they have on you physically and mentally?

That FRH sounded like screams from damned souls in that one river from the Hercules movie, haha, I always gotta come back and watch these old videos. all of your stuff is honestly as timeless as the rations you eat.

Love the way these patrol rations, including First Strike, are mainly stuff you'd pick up at a gas station on the way to a trail or Walmart.

That's okay - I've known Sticky since the beginning - he can make some spoon jingles if he wishes. Makes me want to see what he can whip up in sound.

Steve1989MREInfo if I ever start making videos I intend on doing something like that, crediting you as the original of course. Don't know what I'd be putting out there, but I had the idea when I accidentally dropped a handful of ball bearings and they had neat tones. _"Not bad,"_ I said to myself since they didn't go too far.

I don't think remotely relevant or individual comments are permitted around here. All you are allowed to comment is "nice", "it's *upload time in your time zone*" and an erroneous "first".

I guess New Zealand's food is produced different from America's, where its mandatory to have 75% of what you're eating be either sugar or corn syrup.

Only the US uses HFCS because of subsidies for US corn manufacturing corporations. That shit is toxic.
