2017 Audi Q7 Spark Plug Access and Change

Quick guide to pull off the Engine Cover on the Audi Q7 2017, as well as access the spark plugs on the driver's side (the hard side). The pass side is pretty straight forward.

The torque specification for the plugs (3.0T) should be 30 NM or 22.127 ft Ibs. Also you need to use a Spark Plug Grease - G052141A2 on the rubber portion of the coils (1mm to 2mm thick). Also a Coil puller part number T40039 is useful to pull the coils out. Good luck guys.

Removal of coils: whoever needs to hear this, you know who you are, try creating a slip knot with paracord and wrapping the coil head and pulling. You're welcome Also. Everybody uses a pick to disengage the harness clips, instead just place a wide flathead screwdriver in the slot and twist, it'll click apart easy.

I'm not sure I understand the use of the pick tool - but I will try to figure that out when I get there. Maybe a more detailed video just on that ?! It would be helpful - those kind of things break very easily. Thanks!

Pick tools are used as stronger and more precise fingers, I use it all over that when I'm removing stuff cause it save's the wear and tear 😆

What do you feel about changing the transmission oil on this car? Factory says "Lifetime oil", but ZF says every 60K.

I wouldn't trust the lifetime claim. I changed my fluid and pan at around 60k. It's not an easy task so plan on taking several hours to complete the job.

Yes it does, it's the only way I change the oil on my Q7

hey demon, your discord link is expired. question, when would you replace the coil pack in a q7 2017. It has about 60K miles on it. I was going to do plugs, and thought might as well do the coil pack at the same time, thoughts? And for plugs is the NGK the best plug. cheers dkw

Yeah, NGK, Bosch, Denso are the ones that VW recommends. Make sure to torque them tho (or follow specs from manufacturer) discord.gg/a996j3HbFm For you too

Way too much plastic, more than than what was used in the first Gen 3.0T. What was Audi thinking with that oil cap design?
