2017 WRX - Transmission & Differential Fluid Change (With Issue)

I was able to change out my transmission fluid but ran into an issue when I moved to the differential. The fill and drain bolt were both seized. After a week of pb blaster and attempts, I was finally able to remove the fill bolt. Instead of continuing to work on the drain bolt, I siphoned out the oil from the fill hole using a vacuum pump. It did make me feel confident in knowing that the drain plug is sealed solid where I won't have to worry about any leaks. I hope this video helps anyone who has the same issue.

Thanks a lot. The car is still running really strong and thankfully I haven't ran into any major issue. Mostly just maintenance work. Are you talking about the apr cooling ducts? I still have my old ones in the garage I'd sell you if you don't have the new ones already.

Use anti seize on both back bolts and the front one. They will come off like butter

Isn’t the bottom bolt on the rear differential a mag plug? I would think you would want to remove it and check the mag plug like you did with the trans drain bolt.

That's true it's a mag bolt. I haven't noticed anything that would cause any concern so I didn't mind not checking it.

Question how about for the WRX CVT is it in the same place 2 or no let me know much appreciated thanks

Cvt is much different than the manual transmission and diff. I wouldn't be able to answer fully for it. I think it uses a different type of fluid as well.
