Had it two times and the pizza is quite good, but the cobbler is godlike. I grew up and still live in the southwest of Germany, so I know at least cobbler-ish stuff with apples. We call it "Ofenschlupfer" (oven crawler). Hot or cold with vanilla sauce and a little powdered sugar... hell yeah! Pizza and cobbler - one of the best MRE I ever had.

I’m in the military and going through BMT was pretty rough… then i discovered the power of the jalapeño cheese spread… i only ever had 3 MREs with the spread but i usually just ate the breadsticks then sucked the cheese out like a Go-Gurt my time at the government summer camp was bliss after my realization of the cheese, and the cobbler for dessert was eaten very quickly but still damn good

I remember the old dark brown MRE's. We actually fought for the dehydrated beef and pork patties. You ate one of those dry and you didn't have to dig anymore catholes for the rest of the time in the field!

My uncle told me that in France during WWII him and some other US Army guys would get fresh apple pie on the front line. They purposely left some for the Germans to get which really messed with their heads. The Germans taken prisoner said they knew that the war would be lost because we could get fresh apple pies to our front line and they couldn’t even get food or fuel. It was a hell of a morale booster for our men too.

hahaha, yeah the funny thing is that I had people in my family that fought on the Soviet side, Us Side and German side. Im not proud of it but one of the german guys was in charge of a concentration camp. It makes me sick but it happened and cant change it.
