1:28 ahhh yess the good 'ol 1NZ. Here in my country that engine is legendary, nearly as famous as the Great 2JZ. It's efficient, very reliable and cheap to maintain. If you go to Thailand people are slappin' huge turbos on these things and making like 200+ horsepower. I drive the 2013 Toyota Yaris TRD Sportivo (NCP91). Lovely little car, comfy & fun to drive. Has a decent audio quality too which is nice to take on a chill night drive.

Fun fact, In 2018 Toyota gave the Yaris a facelift, and immediately discontinued the Yaris, which makes these 2018s pretty rare (the Yaris iA, which was discontinued in 2020, is just a rebadged Mazda)

We have a 2010 Yaris and a 2003 Echo, which is the predecessor of the Yaris with the same running gear. The 2010 is an automatic, the 2003 Echo is a 5 speed manual. The 2010 has @150,000 miles, the 2003 has 255,000 miles (on the original clutch, I might add). Both are rock solid reliable and have needed only regular maintenance up to this point. They are just fine as highway commuter vehicles- enough power and comfortable to drive. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

We own a 2014 Yaris in sedan configuration. I'll tell straight up That's thing's got a heck ton of potential. Driving it makes you feel that the car challenges you at every corner, but the challenge is worth the acceptance 😁 Since the yaris has not much mass in it, driving it fast makes things look scary but enjoyable. We have the smaller 1Z-FE (1.3 L), however the thing pulls the car even filled with people like a BOSS If anyone is tired with a corolla (I doubt if anyone would be), want something shrunken in size, consider the YARIS.

The smaller cup holders are too small and the large one is honestly a bit big! Where’s a good place to get a clip in console, anyone?

A little late to the party but I daily drive a 2018 Yaris LE in Canada. It is an absolute trooper of a car, having withstood two of our ridiculously cold winters without having a block heater. I have a lot of stuff in it but generally speaking, it is very fun and nippy to drive and has been relatively inexpensive to maintain. The main issue I have with it is a chronic issue with the serpentine belt, which makes a ton of noise during cold & wet, even after being replaced. l would nonetheless highly recommend this vehicle for anyone who wants or needs a reliable, relatively inexpensive car to get around in. I named mine "The Excellent" for a reason.

My older sister has a 2015 Toyota Yaris LE in this bright red color, she has ZERO fucks about cars and doesn’t know anything about cars and doesn’t care too know about cars, the Yaris is perfect for her and she likes it cause it’s literally a POINT A TO B transportation, she usually drives city, rarely highway so she likes it, i driven it a few times to get the oil changed or check her tires since she has Zero clue into anything maintenance, all she knows is that if the maintenance light comes on then either bug me or dad for an oil change, anyways the 2018 Yaris you reviewed has far more features then her 2015 Yaris, is the same body style but her gauge cluster has no tachometer, only speed and fuel, and her touch screen is an older touch screen from early 2010’s Toyota which still does Bluetooth and aux but in a more simple and older display, doesn’t provide mpg or anything fancy like the screen in the 2018 does, her 2015 doesn’t Have any of those sensors as well and no backup camera, interior quality is also not good either which makes sense for the price point, everything creaks and rattles already at 40mph and the engine on idle is very jittery as if the engine mounts are bad but the car only has 72k miles so I’m assuming the engine mounts Should be fine, but yeah is the perfect car for someone who never owned a nicer car and for someone who doesn’t care about cars and just wants an A to B city transportation, also you should have checked the driver door pillar to see where the car was made, my sisters Yaris was made in Toyota of France lol, a Toyota built in France for the USA market that is shipped to SoCal lol

My sister has a used 2010 Prius. She only knows full gas and full brake and only does maintenance when I notice that it needs something. She's killed the back right tire twice and drove over a concrete parking thing completely. Not her fault, but over the years it's had everything but the back passenger door and quarter panel replaced. Despite all that it still fires up every single time and has needed nothing but a new 12v battery and a brake caliper. When Toyota builds them to last, they last.

Unfortunately, this has Toyota's outdated infotainment system (same in my 2018 Corolla) that doesn't have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and unfortunately, Toyota won't update it leaving customers with an outdated system. Other automakers such as Honda offered Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in 2018, but not Toyota which I didn't like. Only cars newer than 2020 have the new version of the infotainment which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This looks like the basic model because it has the buttons Setup and Car.
