First "Mod" I did to the CB650R was make it even more Cafe Racer. Took off the side snorkles, fitted CBR650R bars, lowered the front indicators and ofcourse installed a tail tidy. Even the Techs at our local Honda dealer preferred the look of mine.

@@Englishbikerdan I'm just dipping my toes into the moto world, and your vids are great man. I also make videos (in a different space,) and sometimes I really feel like "Man, do people even care?" But if they're watching, that means they do! I find your vids great because they just tell me the stuff I feel like I'd naturally want to know, in a non-annoying way. Don't change to chase the style of other people; your stuff is solid.

@@Englishbikerdan For sure man! It's SUPER easy to watch a hundred videos from other people and think "Man, I should be like that, because people are watching those." And sure, look at the other vids, find the stuff that you feel like feels right to you, and always try to improve, but don't copy their style. There's a lot of different styles in any topic, and there's people who watch it all. It's something I still struggle with too, but yeah, you're obviously doing something right!

I'd still love to see those vids where you fit all the mentioned stuff on that beauty. Honestly Dan, thank you - I'm currently riding a Honda CB125F and next month I have my exam for A cat. so that I can get my first 'big' bike. At first I was only considering the MT-07 but since I've done some research and been watching your awesome vids, I'm more and more inclined to go for the CB650R. In the end it'll come down to your advice from another vid (in which you're comparing the two actually) to go for a test ride on both and then choose the one which makes me smile the most. I'm also looking for a specifically naked bike with a lil bit of room for optional touring customization and seeing this vid just made my day - that the CB650R can indeed be a fit for me. I've been looking at touring gear for my 650r too. I ended up with a givi monokey 47l topbox, largely for waterproof (more water protection for your back too!!) and security issues... parking up at motorway services I thought the softies might be a bit easy for some scrotesack to help themselves! Also a Kriega 20l backpack which is amazing. I would like a set of hard (lockable) panniers too but I don't think they do them for the 650r yet, but if anyone knows where I can get a set and mounting kit for this bike please let me know. The other thing that I recommend is some sort of comfy seat cover. I used a gel one but there are better out there. Maybe just me, but anything over about an hour on the stock seat was murder on the old arse! For reference I did Devon and back from Suffolk over a long weekend and was pleasantly surprised at how capable the bike was for this. Will definitely be adding the screen to the list too! Looking forward to your follow video of how it all went and any recommendations.

The windscreen is perfect if the air is hitting you just above your visor. Still letting your helmet do it’s job. I had an MY-09 with a windscreen that did just the same and it was amazing, no wind on my chest pushing my back and the air on the helmet was just small enough to not push my head back either but enough for the aerodynamics of the helmet to work and keep my. Head straight. Had a cruiser with a super tall windscreen that made the air go about 4-5 inches over me head. It was good until 60mph then anything over that and the air actually circled back and buffted at the back of my helmet and make it shake all over. Very inconvenient and uncomfortable

I recently purchased Cosmo Moto @t - smart brake light that affixes to your helmet and detects when you are decelerating - braking or engine braking to light up and inform other road users of your presence and that you are slowing down. It also can be set up to emit a continuous light similar to that of the rear light on your motorbike whilst shining brighter if you are decelerating in addition it can be set up as a strobe/ continuous warning light as well. Have you thought about reviewing this as I believe that this is an invaluable safety aid in raising your visibility on the road at an affordable price for all motorcyclists. Please let me know your views.
