Thank you so much for reviewing this car. This car had become my second choice behind the Ioniq but after watching this review, I can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that this car isn't right for my family. My family needs a half decent backseat and given that this one sounds smaller than the Elantra and Ioniq, I realize that it isn't right for me. Another great review. Keep it up.

Does the GTI have more back seat room?

I'm of the demographic and you nailed it with the direction of N -> M. Nice to see Hyundai's marketing guys getting this review vehicle out to the vlogger circuit, will watch ur review now. How you dropped the hammer on the i30N delivery made me laugh out loud. Well done for doing your research because some other reviewers in your space neglect to mention it.

Impressive car. Like many of the Hyundai and KIA models these days. I'll stick with my GTI for a variety of reasons including performance, handling, and interior passenger room. And a feature that won't matter for most folks. The Washington State ferry system provides a discount for vehicles 14 ft long or less. At 168" the GTI just makes it. The extra few inches of the Elantra hatchback disqualifies it. :)

You can actually slide the rear seats back for more leg room for back seat passengers.

I like the larger windows and I don't miss the sloping roof. That is the reason why I liked 1st and 2nd gen Mazda 3. The only things I miss is lack of a little bit extra hp, no LSD, no auto wipers, a little better interior feel and colour palette.

Fantastic review, im especially happy you reviewed this less looked at model my wife and I are looking at. However in your 2019 Mazda 3 All Wheel Drive review you were fine with 25 inches in the front after installing a rear facing car seat in the back but not in this model. Just a bit peculiar where it bothered you here but not there as the Mazda back seat and boot are smaller. Would love have you elaborate on that a bit more, as to me this car seems much better in every way minus the AWD. Either way thanks for the review.

Sad thing is that you can't get the sunroof in this if you choose the manual transmission. At least in the US.

Odd how things are configured sometimes hey? Maybe they don't want to push it over a certain price point or something.

Really well done review. Great vide. I would hve had this car in my garage already if it had a lsd like the VW GTI. Really dissapointed with Hyundai going the cheap route on this. I Wil say I am happy that Hyundai did not make this hideous like the Elantra sedan

Agrees about the lsd. The GTI and Civic si handles better

I bet as soon as I save up and buy the NLine, Hyundai will bring the i30. That is going to be my luck as usual.
@stephenhendricks1035 жыл бұрын
I don't think you have to worry. Hyundai typically offers either the i30N or the Veloster N in various national markets. Not both.
@DaveSimkus5 жыл бұрын
@@stephenhendricks103 That's such a shame. The Veloster N is not my cup of tea because the interior is a downgrade from the GT NLine. Well I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to modify the GT Nline to get a bit more horsepower maybe with just a tune.

Great Video. But can you explain this transmission in a little more detail of exactly what it is. Is it a Torque Converter or a Dual Clutch like the one in the Ford Focus that gave so much trouble for them. Thanks
@planetwisconsin99015 жыл бұрын
It is a dual clutch, no torque converter. I'm sure it's not the same as the ford.

Great review of the Elantra GT n-Line. I do however opinion that the rear seat leg room is adequate for its class specially in comparison to the Mazda3 hatchback (which you also reviewed and loved, but did not comment on its rear leg room in that video). Below I pasted the front and rear leg room specs between the Mazda3 hatchback (first column) and the Elantra GT. They are nearly identical, though the Mazda is a vehicle 5" longer than the Elantra. Front Legroom 42.3 in 42.2 in Back Legroom 35.1 in 34.8 in Additionally, sitting in the rear seat of the Mazda3 hatchback feels like a sarcophagus, those rear pillars combined with the tiny rear window let very little light in the rear and shrink up the visual volumetric space, while the Elantra GT "feels" larger when sitting in the rear and its massive sunroof lets in lots of light for the rear passengers. I think the Mazda3 rear seat is very unpleasant despite its minuscule 1/2" leg room advantage over the Elantra.
@FamilyWheels5 жыл бұрын
Fantastic info and comparison! Thanks so much for sharing. Mere millimeter difference in that legroom, wow.

This car is not meant to rival The GTI. It’s more of a Mazda 3 2.5L, Civic Sport Hatchback, and The Regular Golf. I will say that i do like the exterior of The Elantra GT N more than The Golf. Those rims are straight off the BMW 1X
@caglioso5 жыл бұрын
Was considering this to replace my civic hatch but I didn’t like the look/feel of the interior materials. Fit and finish just felt a bit too cheap and plasticky. Still a good value though, especially with all the features in the top spec. Of course if the i30N actually came to the US it’d be a different story.
