The bed divider used to be a bed extender, but then, as I understand it, federal laws changed regarding side visibility of tail lights. Consequently, Ram could not install the pins used to make that divider also work as an extender. Reason I've seen is that having the pins there and including the bed divider makes it original equipment and it violates the law. Owners can get the previous gen pins and install themselves and use as an extender as originally designed...

I have this same truck without air suspension, my payload is 1470lbs. The air suspension reduces payload by 250-300lbs over the regular suspension.

Interesting, thanks for the note! I really want to test one without air suspension to see if the off-road ride is better.
@BCJ3714 жыл бұрын
It's not that much. It's about 60lbs I believe. The multi function tailgate and the ram boxes are very heavy options and limit payload

I agree on those running boards! Way too low and they stick out to the sides, which hinders the breakover angle. They also collect mud and snow, which makes it an obstacle course to get in and out without getting grime on your pants or shoes. I would remove and sell them if it were my truck.

That's true, I had a Trail Boss in the winter and the running boards were full of mud, sand, and snow. Made getting into the truck worse than if they weren't there.

Add a 4" lift and put 34 or 35" tires. AEV has the best lift. As theirs is the only one that can be reversed.
@EngineAdventures4 жыл бұрын
It may not need a lift to fit 35" tires on it, it has 33" tires from the factory. I'm a big fan of lifting as little as possible to fit the desired tire size. I am a big fan of AEV products though!

I feel like I would never need heated seats in the rear lol. I don’t want my kids getting too comfortable 😂

Haha, I've been hearing more and more how important it is to be uncomfortable especially for kids!

Can you tell me please what is the maximum wading depth of the new Ram Rebel? Thank you so much, by the way beautiful review, keep up the good work!
@EngineAdventures3 жыл бұрын
For the 2021 Ram says in the owner's manual up to the bottom of the rims. In the past they have said 20" I believe. There are many videos of them going deeper than that though. Thanks for watching!

The air suspension and the ram box really blow the payload on that truck. It really hinders this vehicles ability to tow the campers.
@EngineAdventures3 жыл бұрын
It's kind of comical that my commuter car is a compact sedan, and it has about 1,000 lbs of payload capacity. Only have that in a pickup truck is very limiting.

off road page is on the big screen XD spend more time in the truck but thanks for the info I think ima stick with the 5.7hemi just dont see any use for an echo Diesel other then fuel saving
@EngineAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I definitely need to spend more time in the infotainment systems, but I mainly focus on the offroad testing done in my other video of this truck.

When are you going to get a new Bronco?!?
@EngineAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Probably in a year or so. It doesn't come out until next spring and I have only had production models in the past. If I'm lucky enough to test a pre-production model then maybe sooner.

Pick up is bad car because i cant sleep there - its very bad thing for travel. Suspension is hard. Cargo has little cubic feet compare with van. Its need for few people in ranch etc...
@EngineAdventures4 жыл бұрын
I think you'd be surprised at how comfortable the 1/2 class of pickups have become. Get a bed shell and you can easily sleep in it. Vans have their place for sure, but so do pickups.
@point48944 жыл бұрын
@@EngineAdventures its not comfortable to sleep in the body, ugly outside and kill one of the good thing in pick up...
@HateTheIRS4 жыл бұрын
point4894 if you have a crew cab you’d have enough room for 1 person in the back. Like he said, get a tent or shell for the bed of the truck. If you think trucks are ugly then don’t buy one simple as that. You’d be surprised how good the ride quality is, on new trucks, like ram truck which have coil springs, and like he said this truck has air suspension.
