I watch a lot of bike radar, and cycling weekly videos... But they talk a bunch of crap about compliance and talk in theoretical terms... That it always seemed like fluff. I'm genuinely impressed with your reviews because you give real world examples like drifting etc... This is honestly the first review where it relates to a writer and how they use the bike in the real world. None of that stiffness and compliance BS that bike rider and the other reviewers like to spew. This channel definitely needs to blow up

Jack - recently found your channel after being referred to it by Papa Wheelies. Love this and your other review videos. Informative, thoughtful, and thought-provoking, but most importantly, not a mindless recitation of specs and adjectives from the manufacturer’s website. To paraphrase the Big Lebowski, “You are The Dude!” I’m testing out BMC’s Roadmachine along with others from Scott and Specialized. Sounds like I need to take a spin on a Teammachine too. Keep up the great work from Gloucester.

Great video! I am a proud owner of a 2017 BMC Teammachine SLR01 (along with a 2014 BMC Granfondo Gf01 and a 2019 BMC Timemachine Road TMR01) and can fully attest to the way this bike handles, particularly on descents. I understand more about why that is thanks to your insight.

Thanks for the review Jack, the best I've seen! I bought the exact same back in 58 after viewing your review and because of the bike availability. I've put around 1200 miles on the bike with major climbing in SF Bay area. I came off a 2018 SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod Ultegra mechanical (older model) for comparison which I paid around $3600 at the time. I had to go back to my LBS twice because the saddle post was sliding within the frame. It has been fixed since but that was super annoying for a bike of that price. I found the SRAM Force AXS etap super noisy in the middle cogs (despite the micro-adjustment) compare to my previous mechanical Ultegra. I also experienced some drop chains (outside and inside of the crankset) which chipped the paint (not visible though). My summary: - Stability on the descents is amazing - Stiff bike but SUPER comfortable (better than my older Supersix) - Overall quality feels sturdy - Paintjob is nice but fragile - Braking power is great but also noisy when it's humid (SRAM problem, not BMC) - Heavier than my Supersix by almost 1kg (my Hollowgram wheels were lighter compare to the DT Swiss 1650 that came with the BMC) - Slower than my older Supersix on climbs (it takes me 10W more for similar times) but it's faster on the flat. - Noisy SRAM eTap Force rear cassette Cheers and be safe!

damn!!! you just made me want that bike more and more. Jack, you did a very good, excellent, supreme analysis. I know you did not make a comparison with other bicycles in a mirror sense, it would not be a bad idea if you did, especially you leave me wanting to know if it somehow made you think about being able to change it for the Cannondale that you now have, bicycle I've heard wonders about as well, in fact, thanks to you or your fault and my fault as well a friend of mine just bought the supersix-Evo, he goes at 90 kilometers per hour without a problem, down hill . well, he's not very tall, which It helps to carry the bike a little better, he is 1.68m while I am 1.85m. Anyway, what do you think? Would you trade your cannondale for the BMC? Thank you very much for your work, a video put together in a very professional way. Cheers to you again.

Great video! About to replace a brand new frameset Factor Ostro Vam due to headset issues. I had a Bianchi Oltre before. Looking for the Porsche vs the Ferrari of bikes- reliability, comfort, speed, stiffness and good looks/sexiness. Trying to decide between the Teammachine SLR 01 Two frameset, Cipollini Dolomia or Colnago VR3. I am hesitant on going with the Cipo just because it's like Factor, small manufacturing, but cool looking bikes. Any thoughts.....?
@ingguidesmedia3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Colnago has great mystique for me. The cipo’s look overbuilt, kind of clunky, to me. But I haven’t ridden either so hard to advise. Teammachine is finest road bike I have ridden to date. The layup is very good. I’d trade my 2020 SuperSix Evo, for that bike in a heartbeat. For me the BMC is definitely the Porsche of the bikes you mentioned. Might not be the sexiest, but the engineering just works. Great quality and precision. Fit and finish very good. What was wrong with Factor headset?

Hi just stumbled on your channel as I am looking to purchase a roadmachine but no one has my recommended size in stock. I was able to find a Teammachine slr three Ultegra mechanical. the geometry on both bike is very similar but stack and wheelbase are lower on the teammachine. my question is the 56cm comes with a 110mm stem. My bike fitter suggested that can by that bike but change to a 90mm stem. I am just concerned that the stem change might affect tracking and stability. Your thoughts on any possibility that change will affect those characteristics on this bike.

I have been looking for a roadmachine but it is out of stock everywhere, instead the teammachine is being offered. Would this be significantly more aggressive/difficult to ride when compared to a roadmachine? I don't ride more than a 100 miles on a ride.
@ingguidesmedia3 жыл бұрын
The Teammachine is a very comfortable ride. I’m not sure how it compares to the Roadmachine. The Team is not particularly aggressive for an all arounder. Like I mentioned in the video it has 5mm more trail than most. I’m hesitant to steer you in the wrong direction because it’s a big decision. If you can get the biomechanical position your body requires on the Teammachine, I doubt you’d regret your purchase. Jack
