Honestly I barely noticed the absence of the trellis frame when I first saw this bike. I personally think the bike looks great! Lovely review!

they shaved 20kg by removing the trellis frame, or at least that is what I heard, I always loved the trellis frame of a Ducati but if I had to choose between 20kg less and the trellis frame, lightweight always wins for me. and to be honest the design is still killer!

I have riden F900R, CBR650R, Duke890, MT09SP and I have Monster+ at home. Its so sexy with absolutely best agility and handling (duke is the only contender really). When you buy a Ducati you definitely pay a little extra since it’s a top brand as Triumph for instance. The new Monster is a beautiful all rounder bike also targeting new riders which can benefit from top notch electronic package (cornering ABS), superb handling and braking. The power is more than adequate. Japanese bikes are allways cheaper due to numbers of sales worldwide and a lot of China based production. Triumph prices are high despite production plants and assembly are in India together with Ktm. Ducati are mainly made in Italy as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Moto Guzzi and Aprilia… or Mv Agusta. If you look at Triumph’s Bonneville range (i ride a Bonneville) they are silly expensive for what you get.

a quick question for you have you ever tried the Ducati street fighter V2 it’s similar money the Suzuki GSX S1000 and the same engine power but the engine sounds very similar to the Ducati panigale V4 but without quite so much power and a good size fuel tank it might worth looking at especially as the Ducati has Quick shift as standard on those bikes including the V4 and the V4S and there’s another two models in that bike
@FraserWest-um4ue4 ай бұрын
Since you’re video on the Ducati Monster they have added other options for the exhausts which are a bit more more noisy and more like a Ducati should sound like
@Englishbikerdan4 ай бұрын

Yes far too quiet for a Ducati bike but at least they give you the option of different exhausts which add 4 bhp to the engine and more torque to the engine it might be worth your time trying one with that option
@FraserWest-um4ue4 ай бұрын
I will say one thing you’re right about the fact that the Ducati Monster is quite expensive for the sort of bike especially when there’s other bikes that have more power and more options on the bike so Ducati needs to upgrade the bike more in order for people to consider buying it when the Ducati Monster is still more expensive than the Suzuki GSX1000

Another great review. Nice bike BUT, it is expensive. In the recent past you have reviewed the GSX-1000, the Trident, and we have seen quite a bit of the CB650R. There is also the MT09 and the Duke. In the bottom line this is one more naked bike. I don't think the extra cost worth it.
@jantok92172 жыл бұрын
It is not expensive. Itried to configure basic Duke890 with same accessories like Monster have from stock and it costs even more. Yep, MT09 or Suzuki couldnt be beaten from price perspective but F900R, Triumph RS, Duke…they all are on very similar price level. I do not regret any penny spent on my Monster. Well, I mean the advantage it has over those bikes you mentioned are that it's faster, lighter and much better specced. However when you compare it to the same bikes in the class, MT09, KTM890 etc, it starts to even out some.

I gotta say, for somebody that does not care about the badge, this thing is quite overpriced if you look at the competition where I live.
@c.g.c20672 жыл бұрын
well if you look at Triumph Speed Twin or St.Twin I wouldn't call the Monster overpriced...

For a Ducatista thats not à Monster, hope that Ducati gets his error and fixe it next bike but Well Nice bike but I would prefer buy the streetfighter between both models

There's no pipe under the seat, it's not panigale

No it's a Monster. But the pipe is pretty close to the seat.

It still looks good. Cheaper to service now with the longer intervals and a lot lighter. I wouldn't buy a Ducati, though.

They need to get rid of the desmo valvetrain like they did with the V4.

Sorry Dan, if you would change gear a little more it would make it a far better review in my opinion. Thanks anyway.

When you can get a brand new Street Triple RS for the same money, you’d be mad to buy this.
@Englishbikerdan2 жыл бұрын
I would say, it rides every bit as good, better in terms of pure agility than the STRS. Just my opinion.
@cwuzii2 жыл бұрын
@@Englishbikerdan I haven’t ridden one but I might try and get a test ride booked. It’s so hard to overcome the sound though, at the best of times a twin sounds like 125, that’s definitely where the STRS shines though! Also looks wise I reckon the Triumph, well, triumphs. Also the quick shifter is flawless, I haven’t experienced the Ducati as I said so I’m not sure if it even has qs down or autoblipping…

The exhaust is quiet, we need to hear the beautiful v2 sing. Fully silenced engines just sound weird.
