YES, be very careful when removing the fender bolts, I don't understand why they were so tight is not like they were securing something. I damaged the inner thread of the left fender. Had to replace completely.

Good news, same size bags can be mounted, just have to put the bolt with the adapter opposite side. I have two right size bags on, just changed the bolt with the silver ring the side of the bracket bag needs it on.

Are they too small with the 2 right side bags? I was considering doing 2 left bags and then running the Coffman thunder exhaust

Yes if you want big bags the exhaust needs to be straight.

I got these for my 500 Rebel. And SW Motech for my Royal Enfield Meteor 350, and the the bags will fit and click on each bike. Honda bags will click onto SW Motech frame on the Meteor, and Sw Motech bags will click onto the Honda..😊

I have the same bag and mount for the right side. I am wanting to put the same bag (10L right side) on the left side so its not staggered. Would I just need another right side mount for the left? Or do I use the right side bag with a left side mount?

Thanks for very useful video...made my install easy. But a question on the bolts that screw into the fender. I'm seeing in the manual to tighten these to 44 N-m torque. This seems a bit too tight and thinking may damage the threads. Wanted to ask how tight you put the bolts on.

Can the right bag be used on the left side? And vice versa? Or do you have to get the different size bags?
@MacrossGarage
@MacrossGarage 3 жыл бұрын
The three points of contact line up but the part that locks the bag is on a certain contact and if you try a bag on the non intended side the locking part will not be lined up with the correct contact. So the answer is no.
@MJ-sp6pq
@MJ-sp6pq 2 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify yes, just get left and right brackets and swap the install configuration so it's facing the right way and you can have either bag on either side with the exception being only the bigger bag on the right side if you have an aftermarket exhaust that doesn't interfere with installation. Obviously the right bag is smaller bc the exhaust would obstruct the bigger left size bag. Seen two large bags with aftermarket exhaust using this method. Hope this helps.

Anyone else have problems with their inner threads on the fender stripping out? I installed mine about 4 months ago. With blue thread lock. I put close to 900 miles on the bike with no issues. Last week I rode 1600 miles on a trip with my brother. And three of the four bolts pulled the threads out of the fender and my luggage almost fell off. In the middle of my trip. I was thinking about drilling a hole straight through. And putting a nut with a lock washer on the backside. But I’m worried about clearance with the tire.
@MacrossGarage
@MacrossGarage Жыл бұрын
I did have one inner thread not lining up and had to wiggle the fender some to get it in. Happen on my Super Cub as well. Was it hard to screw in when you tightened them?
@jakeco438
@jakeco438 Жыл бұрын
@@MacrossGarage Yes, it was a little difficult. It seemed to me. That the luggage brackets and the fender holes didn’t line up properly. I hand to hold and push them to get the bolts to thread in. I think I’m just going to drill out those holes. All the way through. And get some longer bolts. That I can put a wrench on instead of the stock bolts. I will run the bolt through from inside the fender. That way just the heads is sticking out inside the fender.
@MacrossGarage
@MacrossGarage Жыл бұрын
The treads might of gotten messed up then. Make sure the bolt don’t hit the tire.
@jpbelo
@jpbelo Жыл бұрын
Hello! Do you still have this bike? I need some help and I think you can easily do me a solid. Hypothetically, let’s say you want small bags on both sides. If you change the position of the screws on the left side (move the longer screw to the back), would you be able to have 2 small bags? Follow up: Any chance you can measure the distance between the center of each of the 3 screw holes (the ones that mount the bag)?
@jpbelo
@jpbelo Жыл бұрын
For context: I just bought the new hornet and the mounts seem to have a similar system. I much rather get the hornet rack and the rebel saddlebags. The problem is that neither Honda or dealers know if the bags even fit that mount. Trying to do some research before ordering and having it not fit
@MacrossGarage
@MacrossGarage Жыл бұрын
I’ve heard people do the same to make both sides fit larger bags so wanting two small bags should work. It’s roughly 7.75” from screw to screw. That is the two outer screw.

That stock exhaust has got to go... I'm looking at a rebel 1100 for my first bike, but the first thing I'd have to do is straight pipe it. Having to sacrifice saddlebag size because the exhaust is huge is just dumb.
