Glad to see Santino win after those bullshit losses, that whiff on Triple Axel was brutal.

Which is exactly why they have a best of 3 and resets, it limits the amount of luck that can occur

As someone who doesn’t regularly watch tournaments, I’m confused about the purpose of the grand final match. Is it just essentially a warm-up before the reset, or is there some benefit for the winner?
@peruru84
@peruru84 3 жыл бұрын
The first Grand Final Match is the winner of the winners bracket vs the winner of the losers bracket (people who have all lost a match). If the Winner's bracket winner beats the Loser's bracket winner in that first match, the tournament ends. But if they lose, they fall into the Loser's bracket and play one more match for the tournament. Essentially, everyone in the tourney has 2 lives, and the winner of the winners bracket hasn't used theirs yet. If they lose, they get the bracket reset.

Imagine winning every battle but then you lost the final and didn't get a second chance. That's why having a losers bracket and winners bracket is more fair for the winner to still have their second chance

It might be a dumb question.. but why this kyogre is faster than the calyrex? Both of them have one tailwind on their respective sides, even with choice scarf, shouldn’t kyogre be slower?

Can someone explain what the player cup is? Did it replace vgc for this year?
@Oneilius
@Oneilius 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, due to offline tourneys not being a thing during Covid, Players Cup replaced VGC as the official sanctioned competition. Each players cup (this is the 4th in SwSh era) has a few rounds of qualifiers before the final tourney, so everyone that makes the final would have already proven to be a high level player.

Santi had by far the best team in the tournmanet. I actually dont think there is a singlel thing Wolfe could do to win when Groudon was his selected Restricted mon. The Kyogre team is straight busted. Pair it with Tsareena and one of the key techs to deal with Scarf Kyogre disappears (No fake out). The the Grassy terrain Rillaboom and Prankster Tornadus means his team owns priority in the tournament in every matchup. Frankly Once I saw his tweam beats Wolfe, I knew the tournment was over

Leonardo Bonanomi made it to Players Cup finals twice and Jonathan Evans too, losing to Wolfe and winning the second one. That consistency proves these two are probably the best players in the world. You can be lucky once, but making the finals multiple times? That aint no luck. Even in a very chance-based game like Pokemon.

@@Beamin439 Let's just agree that this Invitational had some of the most consistently dominant players in the history of the game series. I was in awe seeing how original Wolf's and Sejun's teams were. Santini's Torn-Ogre version was unexpected and probably the best S10 team at the moment as far as I'm concerned. This is the most interesting tournament we had so far in Sw&Sh. Massive props to the players who made this event so epic.
