@koma-k3 жыл бұрын
@@bonnafansgarage510 I beg to differ - I found Tesla's UI simpler to navigate and to orient myself in on "first contact" than the Google car UI (Polestar basically left infotainment to Google). I think it's mostly down to visual grouping, but also the choice of colours for buttons vs decoration - buttons don't really stand out because there are no borders around the icons (either individually or around a group), and while you do get used to this the lack of extra visual clues makes "first contact" more confusing IMHO. Now I've been hunting for options and menu items in the Tesla UI too, but at least I find it easier to understand "where I am", even if I'm looking in the wrong submenu/settings page. Of the UIs I've tried though Google's is easily among the top ones, while at the other end there's the iPace and its confused mess.

The big 3 tech companies will take over vehicle infotainment. Tesla, Apple and Google. Absolutely yes!
@andrewmeehan61513 жыл бұрын
I hope not, when an entire car revolves around infotainment it kinda ruins the car. I don't need a screen the size of my torso in a car. My 11 inch in my Subaru works fine. The tech companies have enough money lol

@@legacytesla doubt it, just watch the video, half of it is spent fiddling with the screen, when I could've just gotten where I was going. I have alexa in my house, but half the time it is easier to just flick the switch or lock the door rather than trying to get alexa to understand me.

@@andrewmeehan6151 someone obviously doesn't own a Tesla. The value of the display to control everything in the car from the display or phone is definitely a huge perk. And the technology in the infotainment can control more than just hvac, maps, etc. It'll be used to watch movies and play video games, and uses that we haven't thought of.

@@andrewmeehan6151 yes a boomer spent a bunch of time fiddling with a screen he had never used before, true. Kids growing up now are digital first. After having owned a Tesla for a few years I look at a regular car and never want all the buttons back. Once you're used to it it's a way more efficient use of space and can be updated by the manufacturer. Analog layouts are dead. So yeah if you're a Luddite or a boomer you may prefer the old way but as soon as you get used to the new way you'll never want to go back.

So given that sandy is prob not the early adopter of new technology, why don’t one of the younger dudes do the test drive and tech walkthrough

You have to adjust your terms Sandy, it isn’t a gas pedal as it uses no gasoline. An accelerator pedal or go pedal is acceptable.

Nice car, but why is the middle console so wide? Rubbing your knees against it all the time would annoy me to the point I go crazy and rip it out! You see these quite often in The Netherlands btw, quite popular car here.

I don't want anyone to help Sandy with the tech, it skews his real time candid impression(s) of a car. Imho, all settings should be set to default, just like it will be for most owners on their first drive. I also like to see you charging cars in the wild and am sad you did not with this Volvo.
