Quite a few years ago at a bike show at the NEC Birmingham UK there was a cool looking bike with a huge stars and stripes tank on it, but the engine underneath was a V8, they didn't fire it up, if I could find the pic I'd link it but I bet it was loud. There was also a custom Bandit with full Hulk livery all over it in a cage with chains holding it lol.

I bought a brand new BSA Rocket 3 back in 1969 in Ontario Canada, it cost me $1800.00. I believe it had 58 h.p. and I thought it was snappy. I started off with a 1959 Ariel Square 4 which was very smooth and I thought quick back in the day. I can only imagine what that new Rocket 3 is like.👍👍

@@realMaverickBuckley , unfortunately no. It was a basket case when I bought it for $450.00. My Dad talked me into buying the Ariel and he helped me immensely to get it back on the road. I can’t remember how long I kept it but I ended up selling it and made nothing on it. Today it would be worth big bucks. I’m not sure which year I bought it but it was approximately 1965.

For me the test is what distance you do and the purpose of your purchase. I have an upright riding BMW (R1250R), can ride all day. Had once a Suzuki GSX750, superb bike to ride, excellent handling, but had enough after 1 hour (arms ached). Had a previous BMW and truthfully rode from Hertfordshire to Skye pretty much non-stop save for fuel and eats. Bike did not miss a beat. The Rocket offers an upright position, but it looks like a missile one sits on. What is is like for maneuvering around a drive or in a garage.

I managed to get one of these in Ireland . Only 2 made it here into the north. I love it !! Nicely done Dan. The keyfob thing happens fairly regularly i find it's better in a top pocket. I even tried changing the battery. Always make sure you turn the fob off when you aren't riding it to save battery. I agree on the gt position. R is more comfy for me. I haven't really got used to the heat of the engine at slower speeds on warm days in the city. Very hot on the legs. I put a black screen on mine and the single seat pillion conversion. Will get the heated grips and tyre pressure sensor added at first service.

do you feel the engine vibration on the handles when you drive at around 70-80mph? I had to sell my Harley cause I couldn't withstand that vibration, would numb my arms quite quick, been riding since then a Kawasaki Concours 14, and this has no vibration at all :) How does the Rocket behave?

First thing I got installed was the sissy bar / backrest. Happy wife (or girlfriend), happy life! Then tail tidy, blinkers, DNA air filter, next will be the Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde exhaust once available. Then on to the dyno and get a custom tune for it. For the future, we might be looking at the TFC's titanium valves and the TTS Performance pistons. And another custom tune in that case. ;)

Living in the frozen north I’m not convinced it’s practical but I bet it’s fun and it looks great, I’d have the GT with a screen😀

The keyfob just needed a new battery. It was the same with mine when I picked up a new Rocket 3. You can turn the fob on and off and people forget and leave them on too long. Ride the R a decent distance (250 miles) on a day trip, and you'll want the GT.
