By far the most comprehensive and realistic review of this bike, thank you so much. Very very tempted by this, it's easier to justify this for me than some of the offerings from other manufacturers.

11 years ago, I rode an old Rocket III for an afternoon, the old Roadster model. I couldn't believe how light it felt pulling it off the side stand, doubtless due to the low centre of gravity. On the go, the weight is an advantage with the consequent stability. I can see the point of this new model. Just a shame, as you say, it doesn't have a reverse gear. I'd love to go to that stately home for tea and scones. Excellent review.

I won’t be getting one of these for a long time as I haven’t even gotten my first bike yet, but I can still dream. The best thing about the looks is how you can basically see Batman riding around Gotham on one of these due to its retro-futuristic styling.

Looks like you're falling in love fella. I have ridden over 6,000 miles on my TFC variant, more power and torque and some Arrow pipes. It is captivating! I live in a very rural part of Yorkshire, similar topography, only less rain, than you get in Wales. It handles beautifully. Already booked 3 tours next year. It is a motorcycling masterpiece. Great review, done the honours with the like & subscribe. Best of luck.

The ol man is such a gentleman. Stuffing his face in sheer enjoyment in a beautiful setting, he didn't even need to say anything, it was just what it was. I owned the previous Tr and it was a beast....especially when it came to stopping it, it was like stopping a charging elephant. It was good to hear what the ol man thought of the new R3.

My second comment on this video... because I keep coming back to it. Reason being, I'm looking to get a Rocket, and when I plugged into the search, this was one of the first videos that popped up. This being the first video I've watched from these gentlemen (I've since watched many!), the pause in the middle of the review, caught me absolutely off-guard. I thought to myself as he walked through the door where the lamb was laying, I thought, there's no way he's going to joke about something like that, and I was grateful that he was not making some kind of joke. I write all this, because I've watched this video a few times, not as much for the motorcycle, but for the interaction between a large, humble man and a tiny little lamb... I hope everyone has noticed, that this very large, handsome "Ol' man" has a heart even larger than his exterior. If you listen closely, you can hear as he begins to kneel down to the head of the Lamb, his breathing changes. It's as if he's trying to hold back from crying. Got me choked up. But I have learned in watching these men's channel, is the brief pauses where we get to see the inside of a church, or unfortunately, watch the Ol' Man on his back in pain. Anyhow, definitely my top "motorcycle review" channel. To be a large man, with an even larger heart, there is no bigger man on earth than that.

Great review on an excellent machine. We recently traded our 2020 Triumph Rocket III GT and I have to say it was immediate regret. We put over 16,000 miles on that bike didn't have a single problem with it. My son mainly rode the Rocket and he is a very conservative driver averaging over 40 mpg for the time we owned the bike. Any where we stopped, the Rocket would draw attention. I may have to make room for another Rocket III in the near future.

Very precise review enjoy your presentations. I'm a tall man also currently ride Harley road king that I enjoy and Triumph thruxton that makes me smile. I test rode the rocket GT in early October its is the most impressive power cruiser I have ridden. Yes its a beefy machine but my take away on that point is that is its 200 pounds lighter than the road king. I can see myself in the seat of this splendid machine with the optional bags and taller wind screen. My kids are just going have to get over the fact D Old Dad spent their Inheritance. 😊

My first large bike was a 69 Triumph Tiger 650 twin with a single carb, the baby brother of the Bonny! Holed a piston by not giving it time to break-in and my mechanic friend put 10.5 compression pistons in it for me. It was a great bike, handled well with Avon TT 100 tires at both ends, as wide as the bike could fit and flatbars. One of my favourite bikes but that Rocket 3 would certainly be interesting, great review!

Wonderful review as always! I had sat on a Rocket III at my local Triumph Dealership and actually liked how the bike fit me. It had a very comfortable seat and a relaxed riding position. Like the fact there are so many electronic aids to make riding safer for many riding situations. I don't know... I watched this review back to back with your earlier one. I think it is brilliantly retro, but as you said, with a totally muscular flare. It is the ultimate motorcycle, with way more power and torque than anyone needs, but with the handling that anyone can enjoy. Triumph really gets their bikes right, especially the details. And it looks like Triumph built this bike with you sitting on it the whole time :) (A 1" riser would sit you perfectly for cruising or touring ...)

First of all, sorry to hear about your little one. They are so sweet. Thank you for your review of the bike and thank you for mentioning about the open rear fender. One of the few things I do not like about it. I would have to replace that with a solid one after market. Iv'e had Harleys (along with other makes) for the last 20 years and i love them,i had sold my 2009 Fatboy and i was going to buy one of the newer Fatboys, but then i saw a Rocket Gt on special offer at my local dealer, when i saw it i just had to buy it! it has been a fantastic bike i've done 2 week long tours of scotland on it and a weeks touring in Ireland and it handled all the various road conditions brilliantly and has to be the most comfortable bike i've had. i am getting about 35mpg but if you ride it more sympathetically you would easily get 40 plus mpg. as for tyre wear i changed mine at about 3500 miles as i was going on tour and they were getting close to the wear bars. i would call the GT a muscle cruiser as the riding position is more cruiser with the foot forward pegs and slightly pulled back bars, the only thing i was initally disapointed with was the sound but as i've put more miles on the exhaust note has got a much nicer tone to it. i am spoiled in scotland for great roads and the rocket just loves them!

Awesome! Have you seen the Werkes exhaust? It sounds like a WW2 fighter!
@blairbluesman3 жыл бұрын
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Yes the werkes sounds great, but i've yet to see an aftermarket exhaust for the rocket that looks as good as the standard one

Go to an exhaust specialist. I had mine modified and it sounds great. They cut and redirect the interior😉. Cost me $600 nz dollars. Thats about 400 quid.

I have been driving an electric car so the rocket 3r felt like the proper choice to balance things out. The bike couldn't be reviewed/described much more better than you did.

Another great review! You should conduct a review here in New England on one of our new Harley's along some great open roads. That would certainly be another great addition to your archives!

"is it a cruiser, isn't it a cruiser", " a category of its own". I don't think so, the Ducati Diavel has already used them lines 8 years ago. As much as i love the Rocket, it can't be ignored that it has put its self along side the Diavel as its main rival. It even pulls of the single sided swing arm to🤔 A great machine, I Love it🤗

Impressive motorcycle. Lots of torque and speed. Sounds good on acceleration. Some put it in the muscle cruiser category with eg. the Ducati Diavel. Looks like you enjoyed your cake and tea. Sorry about your lamb.

Only thing i don't like is that sports bike rear end. The guard needs to extend to the back of the tyre, IMO, like a 1970s Z900 or something. I've ridden a R3R 2020 after putting over 130000klm on two older model R3. The new R3 is definitely better to ride, amazing brakes as well 🇦🇺

Yes with a functional/beautiful rear fender it would be perfect
