Hi Kate, after being out of the biking scene for 6 years, having previous owned a Ducati Streetfighter, I had to go back into it. Had test rides on Ducati Scrambler 800 and 1100 and then a BMW RnineT but the best bike for me was the Trident as the value for money is excellent. Love the retro look with quality fit and finish. Went nuts on the accessories; Heated grips, belly pan, fly screen, bar end mirrors, quick shifter, tech pack, tyre pressure monitor. I love it. To me it looks cool in its standard black and its British. Recently attended the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride and got some really nice comments and looks. I felt guilty being so extravagant but then life is short so why not enjoy the things you really enjoy doing. Happy BH weekend to all you guys and gals out there. Safe riding and enjoy.

Dunno if you can put a centre stand on the Trident. I think they've filled up underneath with the Euro 5 exhaust , so no mounting points ! I couldn't have a centre stand on my Speed Twin. No lugs on the frame. So I had to get rear bobbins and a paddock stand !

Hi Kate, What I prefer to add to bike. The mirrors, the grab rails, the protection for engine and frontend. (and my secret wish the belly pan. Tryed so hard to get one for my Sprint RS 955,but could not get one). What I don't need connection with smart phone. Cause when I ride I do not play on mobile. Tracking device. Thiefs are not thumb, I guess they can examine an bike for after stealing when they know that such an device exist. If it's possible again visit Germany please whe have motor ways without speed limits and nice curvy roads with beautiful landscapes to. Regards from Germany and stay healthy. 🙋🏼♂️ BTW... As an expat originally from Manchester, I loved your ride, It bought back a few memories from years ago when I used to commute and travel around the Northwest, I'm looking to get a second bike for the Summer and the Trident is one of those models that fits what I'm looking for, i.e. A naked bike, mid capacity, and not too heavy. It's come down to the Trident or the CB650R I was on the Triumph site and yes after speccing one up It was heading north of 10.5k (10k is my top limit I promised my wife) so after cutting back on a few things I have as extras the following; Hand warmers (even in summer it can get cold after a day of riding) The machined bar mirrors, they look great, The USB charger, The quick shifter, Frame and Fork protectors, The Aluminium bellypan (Again looks great) The Fly screen (Mainly to stop a build of flies behind my clock rather than acting like wind deflection) Pillion Handles (I think they make the rear look nicer and they are useful for tying stuff on), and finally Paddock stand bobbins for chain maintenance> Comes to just a little over 10k.

I ordered one a couple of days ago (matte black, with the un-subtle logo on the tank). Ticking the accessory boxes from the main list for just what's actually useful, I got as far as frame protectors, tank pad, grab rails and USB charger (totals about £300). Then noticed on the Lind parts site that they were listing an OEM looking reach adjustable clutch lever that Triumph don't list in their configurator - asked the dealer, and it's the stock part from the Street Triple R that fits just fine, so added that as well (it's a lot cheaper than the full lever replacement kits - only £50). Thought about the bluetooth, but the nav only works with Triumph's app - and the app is awful, so gave it a miss.

Soon to be owner here (it’ll be ready on the 15th), and I went with the fly screen, for the little bit of added protection... but mostly to hide the hideous screws behind the dash, the heated grips because at -5°C, it becomes too much for me (I live in the French alps, and winters here can get pretty cold), the shifter, the USB power thing and the alarm, because I’d rather keep it from being stolen in the first place, rather than tracking it after the fact. I didn’t take the Bluetooth thing because the only aspect I was interested in was the nav, and it’s just terrible. In the mean time, I’m just trying to get my fix however I can. Take care.
@karlosh92863 жыл бұрын
New subscriber here , upvote from me :-D A week or two back, for a giggle, I went on the Triumph website and loaded up a Trident with all the options possible. I think the total price hit £10,600 ! From Triumph I'd have the quick shifter, heated grips, maybe the Triumph alarm, and maybe the smart connectivity. i.e. the electro mechanical bits that work better if they come from the manufacturer. Some Oxford heated grips someone had fitted to a second hand Street Triple I had , they worked well, but the control panel looked naff, and it wasn't wired into the ignition, so it was possible to flatten the battery if they got left on. I think you can put on the bar end mirrors from the Street / Speed Triple or Thruxton/Speed Twin. They're a bit bigger, oblongish shape. I would get those, rather than the round Trident ones. Bar ends on my Triumphs are brilliant for seeing behind, but a bit naff with filtering, the oblong ones can be folded in. Not quite as bad for filtering then. As for the frame protector stuff, well I'd go for R&G or Evotech. Some trinkets from TEC bike parts (I think they're doing adjustable levers for the Trident). Luggage, well Oxford, Kappa, Givi or SW-Motech stuff. Bike cover and battery optimisers, Oxford again. Bike locks from elsewhere, Pragmasis, Abus etc. On those lot, quite a few are a lot cheaper because they haven't got the Triumph logo embossed on them !

I was just able to sit on a Trident for the first time just this past week. I am a big guy and I was concerned that I might be too big for it. Surprisingly, I fit better than I thought. Except that the bike is definitely the shortest bike I've ever been on. I'm so close to pulling the trigger on buying one. The only reason I hesitate is just because luggage options aren't very good. I think in time, someone will come up with something more reasonable than just a tail bag or tank bag. I have never had a bike with a quick shifter/blipper before. I don't know what it is like to use one. But in my older age I have found convenience to be a good thing. So I would surely add one. A USB charger would be wonderful. I think heated grips would be a great choice. Never had them before. Aftermarket adjustable levers would be nice. I think I would pass on the Bluetooth connectivity but perhaps I would add that later on if I can justify use for it. I think I would add a TomTom or Garmin with a holder for it. I would love to have the fly screen. But I don't think it gives much protection for the money that you spend. I would rather hold out to see if somebody comes up want something a little bit better. I know that the boys at Tec bike parts will be coming up with lots of accessories for this bike. We shall see what else is available later. But these are my basic things I would want to have probably before I drove off with this beauty. By the way I do love the white color. I could see doing a wrap on the painted pieces to something like British racing green and white or some other color scheme. I love your channel by the way. It's great to see more ladies doing bike blogs. Your down to earth plain speaking is like a good conversation with an old friend. Cheers mate 🙏💃😁

The problem with some of those accessories such as the cleaning kit (as an example) is that some riders may add them to the cost of the bike finance. They then end up paying interest for said item over 2 or 3 years for it. How many dealers would discourage this?

When she went "rum... rum-rum" @ 3:05 That made me laugh a bit. So nice that a grownup girl can get a little silly sometimes. In the end, we're all a bunch of kids deep inside that wouldn't admit that we never wish to grow up. (Or maybe it's just me)? Yesterday i didn't have the time to watch the whole rev'. But the last part 11:43 when she makes that sound with her mouth/teeth was funny as well. I do that kind of thing as well, but if i look someone in the eyes, i do the "blinking with one eye" at the same time as the sound with the mouth. And the aluminium part, or luminum "to my amarican subs" was funny as well. Girl got some humor. Keep it up, and keep it coming Kate. Blessings.

Naked bikes are meant to be naked IMO. I'd happily have it with nothing more than heated grips. Naked are more of an experience and I wouldn't want anything distracting from that. Give me a sports tourer / adv type bike and I'd want all the gadgets and I want that feeling of being on the bridge of the USS Enterprise. But couldn't give a damn about making it look pretty. Give me a big cruiser and I'd want all the sparkly chrome bits but no other gadgets. Def a good memory remembering all those specs and prices. All those years in bike sales have come in handy.

It allows you to change gear without using the Clutch. And because you don't use the Clutch you can change up on a full or constant Throttle. ( You don't have to shut off) whilst going up through the Box. For downshifts you simply shut the Throttle and go down through the gears , again without using the Clutch.
