I have had my 2022 Trident 660 for 4 months, I simply love it as I ride it to work everyday (weather permitting) in Texas. Build quality is immaculate. It is super bang for buck for the electronics and technology on the motorcycle, It is torquey, throaty, short gear changes, refined linear powertrain, slow throttle response helps to control the torque of the vehicle for city rides, I have added bluetooth connectivity, pillion dry bag, bar end mirrors, head lamp grills, a 32mm windscreen that helps a little in windy Texas conditions (but not much), have done 200 miles a day as the longest ride, Have touched 115mph on the bike (I am 6ft and 215 lbs), starts like a gem on a cold day too, miles per gallon is 50 on an average, on some country roads I have got 57 too. I do not like quick shifters but want to get one on this soon. Enjoy the bike, rubber side down! Good review and re-emphasizes my buy. Keep up the good work!

Really informative channel mate 👍 I’ve just completed the NC500 on my Trident covering 1150 miles in 6 days and she handled it really well in all weathers that you only tend to get in Scotland (4 seasons in 1 day) and made light work of Applecross, which I found a doddle on this bike. A 70ltr Oxford dry bag Rok strapped to the pillion is all I used and it faired well and my gear was bone dry. Tinted Sports screen available from “MRA” which is needed and you rightly pointed out. Mine arrived 2hrs after I set out on the tour 😤. 1 or 2 hours riding and numb bum starts to set in. Try CM Seats (Uk) for gel seat refurbishment. I’m sending mine away today, a 7 day turn around and £245 Hope this is of some help to your Trident owner viewers Ride safe

Having owned a first generation (1972) Trident, as well as a second generation (1995 - had it for 19 years and 117,000 miles before it t-boned a deer at 60mph), this new third generation seems to be well living up to its predecessors reputation. Especially the everyday stuff, something my late ride excelled at. As to luggage, I wouldn’t be at all surprised that Givi comes up with mounts. 45 years of riding, and they’re my go-to for luggage.

Hello, It was interesting to note in your very good review that many of the miles ridden saw the bike in a lowish gear. What sold this bike for me was the fact that it will accelerate well in 6th gear from 30 mph, therefore needing less gear changing and no doubt better fuel economy. The salesman said that a lot of purchasers did so for the great low down torque this bike has. It is better than the MT-07 in this respect.

Love mine. With a tad over 220 lbs, the shocks are perfect for me. Got it yesterday and the break in looks a bit long compared to the other bikes I had. I will keep it for a long time, got my Bonneville SE in 2014 and it will be my always ready to go bike while the Trident benefits the cover and a bit more pampering. A Tank and a little Devil making my backyard look like a small piece of Heaven. Nice review, ride long and prosper.

Found the same, I test rode one a few days ago and when revving it up to pull out of my road, it died on me. Feels like it throws too much fuel into the mix and chokes itself when you do that. Worried that it would frustrate me long-term if I were to get one.

I've had my Trident a couple of months now. Overall, fantastic bike. It's my first bike. I've got used to the soft initial throttle now. Unfortunately it is off the road due to a rear brake light fault with the dealer. Also, some of the accessories I ordered with the bike back in November still haven't arrived which is disappointing.
@1ridgy3 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean Colin I ordered just about every option going in December 20 and when I picked it up in March of this year only 50% were fitted. I was bitterly disappointed with Triumph themselves although my triumph Newcastle dealership were great. Seeing grab handles and a quick shifter fitted to a display bike when mine hadn’t arrived didn’t soothe me any either. I eventually got everything fitted mid May. Really not good enough and the down side of production in the Far East. Corporate greed!!

@@1ridgy I totally understand the demand for raw materials, but 6 months for some mirrors is a bit of a joke. The aftersales service from the dealer I got the bike from has been very poor so far. If you’re looking to get into a middle level euro bike the trident is probably one of the better options. The only problem I see is here in the US, at my local Ducati/Triumph/Suzuki dealer, you can spend $300 more and get a GSXS 750, which is quite a bit more powerful in terms of top end, but obviously lacks the Triumph fit and finish. Depends on your priorities and what you want in a bike. The trident does look WAY better then a GSXS though, no denying that

There is a Fly-Screen sold as an accessory for Trident, mine is on order. That can help with your wind-blast issue. I can say, Trident is worthy replacement for your Duke 390. The Duke feels under-Powered in comparison, also, less Torquey.

Hi Dan, great review. I tested one in Paris this Saturday and quite agree that the delayed throttle response was the one thing I found annoying. I fully agree it feels a bit digital and artificial. I currently have a little Fantic 500 which has an instant old-school throttle. I'm in two minds about changing as I love the Fantic but the Trident was really fun as soon as you get about 3k in second. I wasn't bothered by the suspension. Commuting daily through central Paris and having been a dispatch rider in London in the 1980s, the town part of bike tests always makes me laugh a bit going though empty, sleepy villages😂 90% of my riding is unfortunately more like Royal Jordan videos😪

I find it curious that they don't have the fueling down pat. Cars have been using drive by wire for years and years. I don't think you can buy a new car with a throttle cable anymore, world wide. @@Jose1maneZ congratulation. Do you find the riding posture little straining for stop go traffic? Please advise
@Jose1maneZ2 жыл бұрын
@Pranjal HI I've learned that the body adapts to different riding positions (except maybe extreme supersport position etc...) so I got used to the CB fairly quickly. Currently, I feel comfortable on the CB650 (after around 4500km / 2800 miles) In slow/heavy traffic it's small and easy enough to maneuver so it won't make you too tired. The seat height is good for me (I'm 178cm/5'8f 30+ish inseam) and I can comfortably put both feet on the ground so this also helps in traffic for fatigue and can reduce weight distribution on the hands. If someone is considering buying a CB650R some background: I switched from Tracer700 (upright touring position) So it took a while to get used to, The riding position is a little bit more tilted forward so at the beginning I was a bit concerned I would get tired quickly. Today I feel more comfortable on the CB than on the touring Tracer700, The CB for me is also easier to maneuver which is a considerable factor in slow/heavy traffic as I get much less fatigue now. (probably true for any mid-sized naked bike) I got used to it very quickly though, and now I don't notice it 98% of the time - it feels natural for me now. Rarely if I feel my hands are getting tired - when this happens I just concentrate on counterbalancing myself with my legs and core which helps (Lazy moto exercises ;) Hope this helps Safe & happy ridin' everyone!

How is it compared to Honda cb650???
@Englishbikerdan2 жыл бұрын
Both great bikes. Different engines of course. I find the suspension a little easier to live with on the Honda on bumpy roads. But in reality, personal choice is the main factor.

Fuck me if I wanted to see ads every 5 minutes i’d watch American TV

You can blame KZbin for that. It's the only way creators can earn now.

If you pay for KZbin, no ads....just saying. Waiting on the CB650R Vs Trident vid Dan, I've cash burning a hole. I'm more drawn to the Honda truth be known. Honda is 1k cheaper locally as well.

My better half hasone, red n silver. if u put it on 'road' throttle response is better. But it is a bit too laggy. Not my cup o tea for a bike. Bit agricultural also. When comparing to a z900 say.. But maybe cause it's a different machine

I was in road mode on this ride. Can't say I felt it was agricultural, seemed smooth to me but then IL4's are so super smooth !

Nice bike, nice sound and clarity, couldn't help thinking you moaned like a spoilt child through the first half though. What's reviewing next, silver spoons? lighten up...

You mean the bit where I talk about the pros and cons of riding in the environment I was riding? Yeah, how dare I?! 😂

@@Englishbikerdan Yes the video was great and informative but the the first half came across a little anti England considering the channel name, if it wasn't a dog barking, the weather cold for 60c and the choice of wordings with negative feel. I think later you seems to give the bike and Triumph a much better review, but I can't help thinking ( knowing Triumph) a few staff in the office might have been a bit taken back by the review. All that said; nice that you came back with a humble reply and it's for sure a much better review than other channels did when it came out.

@@UrbanoModa I'm not here to blow smoke up any manufacturers bottom. I'm here to give an open and honest review of the bikes I ride, with warts and all. If you watch my press launch video from last December you'll probably see why this video is different. It's a fantastic bike though, I almost bought one!
