I've noticed a lot of people like to buy bikes and fiddle with em. Fit this part and that part, mess about with it lots but not do too much riding. It's a toy for them and they like the idea of owning a bike. Then they get bored, sell it, buy another one and start all over again. Think i'd have the 500 mile service done in about 3 days flat if I got the right weather. Did over 1000 miles in 1 week on my SV650, going nowhere in particular one summer because it was so much fun.

@jrobrides13403 жыл бұрын
Yeah, at first I thought I just didn't have the cable slack adjusted properly after installation. But I had the lever set on 1. When I bumped it up to 2 it still wouldn't go into neutral, but at 3 it goes in fine. I'm OK with it as it's still a shorter and more comfortable reach than the stock lever. Another guy on the Trident Riders USA FB group had the same experience. I've seen other reviews mention that even the stock lever requires pulling it all the way to the grip for proper shifts into neutral.

@jrobrides13402 ай бұрын
@@tims-garage Hi. Just from what you described, I’m guessing there may still be a protective layer or backing that needs to be peeled off. Once I had everything peeled away, I sprayed the screen protector and the screen with mildly soapy water and they instantly stuck together. Then I just used the squeegee to push the little bit of water out from between the two. It’s been awhile since I’ve done it, bit I think that was the basic procedure.

Thanks. No issues in traffic, but I don't live in an area were filtering is legal. They only make the a couple of inches wider on each side at most. No vibrations to speak of, and visibility is good, but maybe not as good as the stock mirrors. You have turn your head more to look down by your hands instead of just off to the side, but for me it's a small trade off for the better look.

@jrobrides13403 жыл бұрын
The right side is covered by a plastic plug that easily pries off and the left already has a bolt in it for the swing arm mounted numberplate/turn signals. You just take out that bottom bolt and use the spool bolt to hold the spool and the bracket.

I got my bike 4 days ago and I'm not liking the clutch lever at all. Not sure if it's due to me being a new rider or the lever itself. I have to apply a lot of force with my hand to press the lever. Do you recall something like this when using the stock lever on yours? It is also far for my hand to reach it and I have large hands lol
@jrobrides13402 жыл бұрын
The only time I used the stock lever was on the ride home! 😆 I could tell from pictures and early reviews that I was not going to like it. I ordered the Tec levers before the bike was delivered. You were right in that the force to pull it is not good. I also didn’t like the long reach and that it couldn’t be adjusted. I suspect that Triumph tried to design the clutch to have a large friction zone, which is good for new riders, by having a lever with a long throw or travel. But most people go to aftermarket levers right away. Just be careful not to adjust them too close or you could have trouble engaging neutral.
@JaymzSim2 жыл бұрын
@@jrobrides1340 Thanks for your quick answer! This helps a lot, I wasn't sure what was the problem. I'll see if I can cope with it until the break in period ends and decide if I need to get an aftermarket one. To be fair is the only thing I don't really like about the bike.

No kidding!! I just got my Trident a couple days ago and that lever is way out there with a heavy pull compared to my last bike. Wasn't apparent on test rides but after my first ride, 80 miles of break in required constantly shifting, fluctuating rpms, gears and mph left my hand cramping wickedly bad. Totally toasted my tendons so I could not ride the next day. I'll bet today's ride will have to be short with my hand cramping and barking at me. I wear large gloves. WTH? I've been thinking about EvoTech levers (tho these look good too) but I'm torn between shorties or normal length. My dealer suggested I consider the Triumph quick-shifter. What did you end up doing and how well did it work for you?
