As an owner of one of the first ZR2's, I can say the Android Auto OS is the worst part of this truck. Everything else has been fantastic. Android Auto in this truck is sluggish, loses presets easily, the Google integration with the speed limit takes a long time to register and show the actual speed - sometimes not at all. It's not HD Radio compatible (Which is very noticeable). In classic Android vs Apple shenanigans, Carplay (which has always been better and simpler) sometimes doesn't work. It has a hard time connecting. I didn't have this issue in other car play vehicles. I prefer the Waze interface in carplay to the integrated Google Maps hot mess. So using CarPlay with Waze has become more cumbersome. Other than that, I have yet to drive a more comfortable and capable full-size truck anywhere. This is a masterpiece that is slightly let down by Android Auto.

Great feedback! Hopefully that’s something that they can fix over the air. Unfortunately with our first drive testing we weren’t able to log in with our Google accounts and really give it a thorough testing. I’ll pass your feedback on the Chevy though, it’s great to know.

Android auto work very well in mine it's one of my favorite features, I did have a problem with it not connecting wireless once after one of my kids connected thier iPhone but other then that it's been perfect

The truck really does look and sound great. My only gripe is I wish they offered it with 35s. And a big concern is the lifter problems GM has had. I can't find any evidence that GM has addressed this issue in the latest builds.

You're missing the point of the rock rails. They're not designed to be a step whatsoever. Same as on the Colorado. If anybody can't get in that truck without a step, then they either need to find a car or hit the gym ASAP

There’s one at a dealership by me listed for 70k. Do you think they would negotiate the price? Maybe 67k? I’m not sure how it all works.

Check the window sticker. There’s basically no negotiating these days. If you can get it for MSRP on the sticker without any “market adjustments” or “dealer add-ons” it’s probably a good deal. Let me know how you do!

It’s a Chevy Rebel. I like it but I still would have bought my Rebel, it still out features the ZR2. Coil springs at all 4 corners deliver an exceptional ride as well. But that Chevy engine is very tempting!!

Nice review btw. If you get a change try a 22 Rebel GT with Factory GT exhaust and intake, you’ll forget all about that ZR2, or just feel great that there are TWO trucks out there built for gear heads now. Competition raises all ships in the harbor, it’s a great time to be driving a truck.

Coil springs do not automatically make the ride better. Especially when you are dealing with DSSV shocks. The ZR2 is an entire level above any Rebel.

@@gerralld5211 you could buy a mid teir package raptor and have more capability offroad for 70k. Ofc we could all build ourself and justify not spending money on either. If a raptor is worth 50k, then this truck is 40k.... Don't deceive the public
