I love it. Speedmaster 1200 is everything my Norton's were and More. I've owned (3) 650 triumphs and (3) 850 Norton's And rode them everywhere in the 70's, 80's and 90's. My Harleys were just cruisers but my Limey's were Curve Cutters !

I’m 5’7” and I’ve ridden this, its perfectly comfortable for me, I’ve had a softail deluxe before and if I get another motorcycle it’ll be this bike for sure, its much lighter, it just felt so much more comfortable, nimble and responsive to ride to ride

Couldn't agree more, I absolutely love my 2020 Speedmaster. And you are right, add a windshield and a set of saddlebags and it's ready to roll out the miles. Only thing I'm missing is a highway bar/pegs.

Yeah I know what you mean but I do think triumph did a great job with how narrow they made the radiator and how it fits snuggly between the exhaust pipes ,look really unobtrusive 😊

You forgot to say what is important to say. That it is a British motorcycle in case anyone is in doubt. And I might add that it was the favorite motorcycle brand of Hollywood actor and racing driver Steve Maqueen. He drove the Triumph on a daily basis and in several of his films. It is a very nice motorcycle.

i got the 2007 Speedmaster 865, Carb Engine. Love it to errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr death. Sure the maintenance on the Carb and Air Intakes is a lot but what you get out of it is well worth the hassle!

I think it's the brand name, when someone asks you what motorcycle do you own? and rolling right off your tongue you say 'Harley'......in the same way that John Wayne would have said it. Big man talk, impresses the girls. It's like you're all set once you own a Harley. You Da Man Dude! So why is the name so catchy? Let's break up the word Harley; Ha Ha Ha Ha = happy Har = hark or harp, an angelic sort of bells and harps ringing in the distance, must be the right bike to ride...yeah!!!! Actually I know this for a fact as I've owned several Harley's back in the day, when you're doing 420 miles per hour (cough cough) the engine sings to you, really...it does man! far out man! Now if HD corporate were to invent their own beer they could call it Barley Davidson and I'll bet they would sell it by the truck load. Any Harley guy that owns a Pitbull would no doubt call his dog Gnarley Davidson. I did date a biker chick called Snarley but I had to tell her after 1 date 'On Yer Bike' the pitbull was friendlier! And I have to wonder if there is a Charlie Davidson that owns a Harley; How's your Harley Charlie? And if 'You're So Vain' you could get Carly Davidson to sing it to you. If you were going through the Yellow Pages looking for a attorney and you saw the name Farley Davidson I'll bet you would hire this guy. So if the name Harley had never been related to the motorcycle and the bike ended up being called the Ging Gong Bollock i'll bet no one would have bought it. So it is the name Harley Davidson that is its own biggest selling point.....I rest my case. I too have scoffed up all my popcorn which is why I wrote this entire piece of worthless crap, I think it's really funny, actually I'll have you know that I went to elocution lessons to become a Comedian, now I are one.....and at my last comedy show 1 people turned up.

One thing I would suggest to anyone who owns one and that is to deleate the cat if you can. I just don't see the advantage of having a cooker right under the motor and transmission. I did hear of a man who had transmission problems with his, and they told him to change the transmission oil much more often and he should be fine. He said there was no real fix other than that, no new updated parts or whatever to fix a problem that wasn't really that uncommon. I wonder if the heat is destroying the oil. I hear of so many people who are wondering how to keep their new Harley's cooler. Apparently, they are running quite hot, much hotter than older bikes that had carburetors. Is it because of the EPA and fuel injection and the computerized management they now have, with the result being running way too hot? And what is too hot? Well, I heard a Harley guy say that you really don't want your oil temp in the tank of your Sportster to run above 180 degrees F. Apparently, there is no advantage to have engine oil run any hotter than that. I have a 1200 Sportster that has some engine mods and on an 80-degree day running at highway speeds, the oil temp in the tank was nearly 170 degrees. I'm just glad I don't have a catalytic converter tucked up right under my crankcase. Who needs that? I've heard that the EPA likes to have them jetted lean, and if you richen up the jets just a bit the bike will run happier, cooler, and even get better gas mileage. Is the EPA killing Harley? I don't know.

@@patrickminikusThe radiator seems small for a large motor. I suppose part of the reason is because they kept the fins for cooling also. Lots of water-cooled bikes don't have fins on the cylinders.

Can it keep up with it from 500 - 3500 rpm? That's where a Sportster is supposed to be ridden. It certainly wouldn't blow it away at those rpm's would it? So that's one way the Sportster might be superior, that is, if that's where we want to ride. However, if we want to ride at faster rpm, that really wouldn't matter, would it? Are British bikes really better? Is a Triumph really better because it is a Triumph? Are parallel twins really better? I think a lot of that is subjective. However, the specs say that the Triumph has 9 more hp than the Sportster, and about 6 ft lbs of torque more. I would like to see some roll-on tests though in any of the gears, more than one or two when they are both between 500 and 3500 rpm, or if they both had a rev limiter set to 3500. I don't know for sure which one would be faster there, but I think it would be the Sportster.
