Growing up, my sister & BIL used to live a mile around the corner from the farm. They had a shepherd/lab mix that BIL clocked at 40mph going parallel to the road before taking off across the field. He was sitting on our step waiting for them to pull in.

Nick, et al,….it’s so enjoyable to know that your family gives its viewers full pictures of what you are showing. Coby reminds me of the dog I had while in High School. He was but a wee bit smaller than Coby. I called him Pogo, because of his four legged jumping as a pup. He was nothing short of wonderful. He left me too early through no fault of his own. Coby really reminds me of the many good years I had with him. Thanks, Pog!

I grew forage peas for forage one time but it kept raining & I missed window for harvest. Then I decided to try & salvage the crop by shelling them for seed - what a tangled up moldy mess that plugged up combine in 50 ft. I then built fence around field thinking if I turned cattle into the tangled moldy mess my cattle would clean the chest high field field off (there was a lot of new growth peas by then) but they wouldn’t touch it. Gave up on field for year & was surprised how all that pea residue disappeared by spring & I notilled corn into it & got about 285 bu/acre with only 100 units N. If I was into that 5 acre corn club yield program I would plant a cover crop of peas & let them go for an entire year & then following year plant my 5 acres corn to brag about. Peas do something wonderful to the soil, much more do than beans. I have grown forage peas off and on over the years & I once finished a group of steers on wrapped bale pea forage & whole shell corn fed free choice. That beef was the best we ever ate.

On the pea screenings there should be a feed mill in Great Falls that would take it for pig feed. Also hope you can sell a few bushels of seed to get your costs back because producing enough for seed each year would get tiring and break the bank.

For the Plexi glass you can maybe try tear off vandal shields they use on bus windows. There's usually like 5-7 layers and pretty abrasive resistant. I'd probably put it in a fresh piece of plexiglass at least though.

Toothpaste will polish your plexiglass Bob. You can do the same thing to polish yellowing Headlight lens on your cars and pickups. I would use 3000 grit sandpaper and water to get big scratches out then follow up with Toothpaste. Just an idea. Plexiglass holds up to vibration better then glass in my opinion. We still have 20 inches or more of snow on the ground yet.

When you clean that plexiglass window on the screening plant use "Lemon Pledge" furniture polish. The lemon oil serves as a mildly acidic detergent to clean the surface, and the wax in the mix will fill in the micro scratches. The wax dries clear causing most of the scratches to disappear. No other products are necessary. Just give the dirty glass a healthy spray of the polish and wipe clean. For best results use a soft, micro-fiber cloth to help avoid adding additional scratches.

When you start building your new house. Have the plastic barrier on the inside of the house. The freezing point and the plastic should not cross each other. Where the freezing point is in the wall, condensation will form there. If the plastic is on the inside, the moisture can creep out of the wall and no mold can form there.
