The absolute worst is that you call ahead to ask if a vehicle is available and they confirm, only for you to arrive to the dealer and they "JUST sold the vehicle to someone else". I know this COULD happen, but it has happened at 3 different dealers with me. It's annoying. I think they just lie to get you in the door.

Pull onto their lot or Just across the street, call from ur cell phone, then say ur Positive it there, salesmen say yes I’m looking right at it, then get outta of ur vehicle and walk in within 1 minutes, that’s exactly something ide do!! I don’t play!! Then when he gives me a BS excuse ide say , I know better, and so do you. I won’t do business with a lier you just lost a sale.

yep just happened to me twice. I called in the afternoon to confirm it was still for sale and made an appointment for the next morning to go look at it. Well wouldn't ya know, after being on the market for three months that gosh darn thing sold that morning in the one hour between when they opened and when I arrived. If those odds aren't unlikely enough, the same exact thing happened at another dealership. I think I know why though. Both dealers were new car dealers who posted used cars that were in great condition online. I imagine the tactic is to lure people with enough credit to buy a decent car and pressure them into buying a new car instead.

I rented an empty house and storage but when time tomove in I found out that I would have to move someone elses stuff off to the side so that I could move into my rental... so I did not move in. I lost my rent, didnt ask for it back and I turned my back on the whole idea of moving. Turns me off all landlords for now.

I bought a 2020 Dodge Challenger Scatpack in July of 2020 for $36,000(with power dollar rebates}Today Carvana gave me $44,000 for a 3 years old car with 7000 miles on it..I sold it to Carvana and bought a 2023 Mazda CX-30 for $29,000 with all the taxes and banked $15,000 into my checking account..Yep I could have spent $45-$50,000 for another Muscle car but I feel I got something that has a 3 year warranty where as my challengers warranty would have ran out in July.....Car prices have GONE nuts and cannot see where Carvana makes any money since I see that they will make less then $2000 on my Tradin........

I paid cash for my brand new 2019 charger scat pack. Custom ordered fully loaded exact color I wanted in 2019 paid msrp $46k. Currently The only change Dodge has made on this car is Wide Body. Interior and performance are unchanged. They’re up $25k to $30k msrp. For a freakin wide body. I laugh at them. Absolutely crazy.

When it comes to American made cars, ( I know they are made in Mexico etc.) these discounts are a joke before the pandemic. Now I think they are still a joke. But at least there are some interesting incentive and interest rate’s. Its amazing how long the lingering effects of the pandemic are still effecting things. Our wonderful politicians are not helping. Thanks for all the work you do.

What can I do if they bait and switched me on the mileage limit. The contract says 10k per yr and I have a text from the salesman that told me 15k per yr to get me to go back and sign. My lease currently is almost up in 2 months and im at 43k miles.

Only fools are purchasing vehicles above MSRP and they're making life difficult for the rest of us. I've been saving every month for the past two years for a new car and will continue to save as long as car prices are bloated and above MSRP as they are now. What's going on in this country is a disgrace and its not just the auto market.
@sundar5466 Жыл бұрын
Spot on, I’m saving for last 3 years! Will not buy if I don’t get discount off MSRP - only interested in Honda
@SmartPracticeSuccess Жыл бұрын
@@sundar5466Good luck with that. Honda is one of the brands with the lowest inventory (although it’s coming back) and lowest overall sales (due to low inventory). Their prices aren’t coming down any time soon, although it may vary a bit depending on what area of the country you’re in. I’m a Honda driver too. I drove my ‘02 Honda Civic LX for 18 years and REALLY needed a new car. It wasn’t going to last another year. My local Honda dealership had had NO inventory for 2 years and FINALLY they started getting inventory this January. I went down in January for a Civic Touring they had and they tried charging me a $4K market adjustment fee. I said no and paid (an inflated) MSRP. I could have tried waiting until this fall but chose not to due to 1) overall low Honda inventory means lower prices/discounts were unlikely this year and 2) inflation. In other words, higher prices are likely here to stay. I’d already driven my car as long as I could and waited as long as I could. I really needed a new car and couldn’t really wait any longer (unless I was willing to be without a car entirely for a while). Depending on what area of the country you’re in, you might be able to find a discount but that would be the exception, not the rule. If it’s really important to you to get a discount, then you likely need to look at other brands or be prepared to wait a while. For me, I couldn’t wait any longer and decided not paying a market adjustment fee was enough, given the current environment. (Because I was absolutely NOT paying a market adjustment fee!) Good luck!

How about the dealer "add ons" like nitrogen in tires? They won't even tell you about it until you get to the dealership and see it added as an addendum to the msrp. I'll never set foot in other stealership again.

Greetings! You have just confirmed another way that manufacturers and dealerships are doing anything and everything possible to empty your wallet. No base models available, anywhere. Only higher trim levels with "Dealer added accessories", stupid high fees and of course the well trained sales and F&I personnel to assist in lightening the load. The average guy or gal working hard to just get by, doesn't stand a chance

Why would you use 2022 sales data as reference point. That's just as bad as what you are trying to expose. At the minimum use 2020, realistically you need to use 2019

But then average end-consumer does not have the same network and finance power as a dealer/professional used car seller does. For example when the passenger car itself is depreciating: 1. All cash, purchased a new car for $45k OTD (assuming $5k on tax and fees). 2. KBB quoted the trade-in value $37k ; Private sell value $40k; Carmax offer: $39k. 3. You already lost outright over $6k since you are not getting those tax and fees back when you sell; and no one is dumb enough to purchase your like new car if average person don't even have the full cash amount to do so. Would be easier for them to walk into a stealership and get butchered for a new vehicle with dealer offered finance at the shop. If it is a used car that has some mechanical issue and you purchased for cheap and flip it, then the story is different and you might be able to profit $1-2k after spending may be $1-3k on time, self-labor cost, repair, and maintenance. But then those are hard labor work that required time, specific knowledge, experience, and tools; if you already have a stable full time job and not much energy for a side gig/car flipping hobby.

Instead of guessing, do the research for the vehicles you are using. For example, if the current offer on a RAM is 10% off, go back and find the MSRP for 2022 and 2021 and then compare it to the 2023 MSRP minus the 10%. Guessing about this is fine as long as you are not making KZbin videos for public consumption.
