2024 - 06 NATURE & BIRDS of JAPAN ( Start of Summer )

This video was filmed during the first 2 weeks of June In the Kanagawa prefecture. First in lower mountains area, then in a park & in a peaceful Shinto shrine. The nesting season has already produced a new generation and adults males are either finishing feeding the young that have left the nest or are busy singing to start another breeding cycle. The Blue and White Flycatcher sings a lot at the moment. Strong rain fell a few times and many trees lost their blossom fast. But new ones are still appearing.

Hello! Thank you indeed. Nature sounds are always better but in Japan noise is never far and many footages of singing birds have to be dropped due to airplane or ambulances noise ( it’s strident). I hope you are well and the weather not to rainy. Very good luck in everything !😊😊🍀🍀👋👋‼️

Another wonderful record of birds and plants in this part of Japan. Your Blue and White Flycatcher is so lovely, makes our Pied Flycatcher look quite drab! Hello 👋 ! Thank you very much indeed. It was sheer luck to find the 2 species of thrush as well as the Japanese sparrowhawk that never comes in the open except to zoom on a prey. July and August are difficult months because of the strong heat and humidity. Birdwatchers here suddenly start traveling abroad if they can or turn their attention to the creepy crawly since we have a lot of them. Yesterday I saw young flycatchers so I don’t know if the adults will have another go: it’s still quite early in the summer ! Please take care and in return I hope you will get lots of summer warblers and young. Young shelducks or young avocets must be really cute. 😊😊🍀🍀‼️

Hello Knut! Thank you indeed for watching. I realize that you are very busy. I was glad of your appreciation. The boobook is hard to see unless you know a special place ( old temples with big trees). The Japanese sparrowhawk is more common but really hard to find with your own eyes. Very best wishes for the beginning of summer. 🙂🙂👋👋‼️

Birders here tend to turn to Butterflies and Dragonflies in the summer when birds are keeping a low profile as they feed their young. Heat and humidity aren’t often a problem here as you know!😅 Good luck with your birding this week.

Hello 👋 ! Thank you indeed! It was luck though: at the moment birds are hiding with their chicks and it’s very difficult to see them. The mountains are indeed beautiful because the soil is volcanic = crumbly so it can’t be covered in concrete. That’s the only luck for nature. Last time you filmed frogs crossing. There are many beautiful butterflies in your country I am sure: if you see some it would be great to watch : they are so different from one part of the globe to another ! Birdwatchers here in summer specialize in butterflies and dragonflies because birds hide except in high mountains. Very good luck in your beautiful environment! Best wishes ! 😊😊🍀🍀‼️

But around the mountains the cities are enormous and not really beautiful. It’s all a matter of learning where to go and avoid the rest and the concrete. Hello Mr Cam ! Nature in Japan is nice where the mountains are so dangerous that it is impossible to build . It was taken near home. I wished I could travel but for the moment it’s difficult. Health and Japanese yen devaluation ! I think it is a worry for many! Let’s hope it will improve ! In the meantime I keep my eyes open on your own birds as they are all amazing and very precious and in need of real protection. Thank you very much and I wish you good luck in all you are doing.
