I keep coming back to the Colorado as what I want next. I'll custom order a WT 4x4 with max towing for ~$36K. Has everything I want. I'll paint/clearcoat the steelies black.

Good that you mentioned TFL and the issue they had with their 2024 Tacoma (they did a video showing the techs' report when they reclaimed it at the dealership, if anyone is wondering).

100% agree about the bang for the buck with this truck in the new economy. This LT with add on packages is pricing 8K-10K lower than the comparable Tacoma Limited trim. I had a 2004 and 2012 Tacoma but will be looking at the Colorado hard in a couple years once they get all the bugs worked out with these new models across Toyota, Chevy and Ford. Brand new designs always have issues in the first couple years. I usually wait for those to get ironed out. Good review. Thanks!

The tacoma is underpowered and overpriced. Much less torque and 30 less hp than the turbo max. $45 grand for a SR-5 is $4 grand more than a better truck, the colorado LT.

The Colorado is the best looking of all the new mid-size IMO. But I hate the move towards all digital controls, just give me a rocker switch any day!

How is the head room in the Colorado? I like them but I’m 6’2 and don’t like to feel confined in the seat. I fear that these midsize trucks will feel like driving an SUV (like a Jeep or Equinox) on the interior. Should I just stick with the Silverado if head room and front seat “roominess” is a concern?
@deanmay3389 ай бұрын
Ben, solid video and I agree with your comments. We plan on buying at the end of 2024 and are leaning toward a midsize truck or possibly a base 1/2 ton (lightly optioned) truck to tow our 2900 lb camper and to haul camping gear. I am not brand loyal and I definitely value reliability and safety as important variables. Since I am buying a truck for functional, towing and hauling reasons, I am quite disappointed in the real world payload of the new Tacoma and the relatively new Frontier. My benchmark is 1500 lbs of real world payload which is ambitious but doable in the midsize market. I am much more impressed with the new GM twins, the new Ranger, and the mildly refreshed Ridgeline when it comes to payload compared to the Tacoma and Frontier. I want 4WD or AWD, but don’t need an off-road oriented truck. We do light off-roading on forest service roads to get to waterfalls, hiking trailheads, etc. and some winter driving. I would like to keep the Frontier and Tacoma on my list, but I just don’t think they offer enough function in terms of payload for my needs. Of course, I wonder about the reliability of the GM/Ford products, but reliability is only important if the vehicle can perform a function (hauling 1500 lbs of camping gear, passengers, pets, topper/shell, hitch, hitch weight, etc.). 900 to 1200 lbs of payload will not do it!

Hey kinda new to buying vehicles. But I’d like to get this truck. If you buy later in the year is it cheaper? As in when the 2025 come out is there expected to be much of a discount ?
@deanmay3384 ай бұрын
@@dnaman2007 I generally think buying in the Fall or end of the year is best in terms of the best deals/discounts. However, I just purchased yesterday. Shopping for a midsize truck. Bought a 2024 Chevy Colorado Z71. I was considering Colorado/Canyons, Rangers, Gladiator Sport S, and Ridgelines. Nice discount. Best price on my trade. 4.2% financing on 60 months. The young salesperson at this rural dealership 90 miles away worked his butt off and never pressured me. Even found me a $500 educator discount. In and out the dealership in 75 minutes. Did most of the work via email, then phone calls.

they aren't putting the new models out so you won't see discounts. I just got back from a dealer and this was my assumption as they almost refused any discount
@deanmay338Ай бұрын
@@h3rmzi I bought in late August. Got a $3,500 discount. $1,000 more for my old trade than any other dealer offered me. And, 4.25% financing for 60 months. This was for a fairly well loaded 2024 Chevy Colorado Z71 in glacier blue metallic. Very happy with it.

Mr. Hardy I agree I don't like there prices with no features and there BS regional Add Ons i have 2 Tacoma's And i think the Next truck will be that Colorado LT 3 even after discounts the Colorado is still 40 thousand for a 4x2 for a decent payments you need 20 grand down its still lots of money for a senior avg thanks ben great video joey.

Not crazy about gm vehicles but the colorado is not too shabby. Canyon looks a litte better. Both canyon and colorado look better than the ranger.

I wish gm offered the 3.6 v6 in it. I have a 2020 colorado with v6 and love it. It gets better gas millage than the 4cylinder in this one in my opinion. This one is advertised at 23, mine was advertised at 24 and best I've gotten is 27. The 21 and 22 colorado was advertised at 25. I know it makes same horsepower at 308 hp but seems like the v6 gets better millage. I'd like your opinion on this one on fuel economy. One of my main issues with mine is the 8 speed transmission thats in it. Mines going out and gm lied about alot and dealership I bought truck hadn't helped much either. Has gm changed their trans design on the new ones? I love my truck, best vehicle ive ever had and drove. Hope gm loses the lawsuit against em on this transmission . Found out 2020 was only year they used that one. It's a long story what im going thru, it's a nightmare. I'll say this. if somebody is gonna get this truck , make sure you read all the fine print on everything you sign, if you buy extended warranty and dealership gives you free powertrain warranty. You just about have to have a lawyer read over all the fine print. Make sure you understand everything in all the contracts/paperwork. I'm thinking about trading my LT towards a 24 model. I like your video. Very imformative. I love the looks of this truck. I see where they new one , won motor trends truck of the year award. First time I've ever seen a small/midsized truck win this award. I wouldn't reccomend the Toyota Tacoma, ita horrible on fuel and nowhere near as good as the colorado. One the main reasons I wanted a colorado is cuzz the engine and transmission and truck was all made in the usa. Like any vehicle it's got foreign made parts in it but at least it's still made here. Its 2024 wonder why gm don't have led headlights in these? Their behind the times on that.

In February 2023, I bought a 2016 GMC Canyon Base model, 2WD, extended cab, long box with a manual transmission. I wanted a 2016 because in 2017, GM added cylinder deactivation. The seats are horrible and don't have lumbar support so I'm looking for aftermarket seats. A year before I bought this truck I looked at a 4x4 Canyon with 100,000 kilometers on it and even though that truck had peeling paint there was only light surface rust. I knew there were things I would change and customize, but I didn't want the technology in the new trucks.
