That really is a beautiful truck. I'm seriously considering ditching my 2023 Ford lariat build with the ultimate package for the 2024 chevy. If I order one now I could probably get it before I even get a build date from Ford. For some reason Chevy seems to be a lot better organized and not suffering from the supply chain issues as badly as Ford is. I would order one with the gas engine and the only thing that drew me to the Ford was the 7.3L so I'll be giving up some pay load and towing capacity with the Chevy. A comparable LTZ to an XLT Lariat with the ultimate package, sun roof, power floor boards, snow plow prep package, Technology package Z71, 5th wheel prep package is about $1200.00 less than the Ford and you get the spray in bedliner that won't set your build back 3 months. Ford really needs to get it together, they're about to lose another customer.

Trucks like this are worth the high price if you have a business such as long haul delivery, construction, landscaping, etc... It's an investment and can be used as a tax right off. This is a really nice truck and I haven't heard of the HDs having a lot of issues. Pretty dependable truck

I own a 2022 Duramax, by the way this is my third one, I have already put 57000 miles on it in 8 months had not had the first issue out of it been all across the United states several times just about through every mountain loaded I know for a fact one of the best trucks own road. don't underestimate that truck. My trailer weighs 9300lbs empty. I work truck 5 days a week.and if I buy another one it will be a Duramax.

I really think that is one of the best 3,500s out there. The only control I would change is the four-wheel drive setting should not be next to the headlight setting. Or at least they should be a different shape and feel.

If the headlights are set to auto, you only touch that dial once. Not a deal breaker. But the price is.

GM did a great job with the refresh of their heavy duty trucks, the Silverado and the Sierra HD are amazing. Unfortunately, the pricing is another thing though…

Gm has the best ride. Ram has the most reliable motor, and Ford has the most power from factory with the 10spd also is a plus.

Anybody that tells you a 6 speed is better than a 10 speed for towing is dead wrong. Staying in the power band is key for efficiency.

I was always a Chevy guy. Until my two year old , low mileage Silverado had a issue and the dealership couldn’t get it in until 6 days later. And I’m quickly changing my mind.

I'm stuck in the old days. Still wish it was an Allison transmission. Both Ford and GM are having issues with the 10 speed. With that said, I'd buy a new GM before I bought a ferd

Mine to be expected, 1 ton,short box with 20's , of course it rides a lil ruff but I'm on gravel just about every weekend anyway. But I'm ditching the 20's so I'm sure that will make it ride better

I own a 2020 2500hd diesel ltz, so have they fixed all the trailering wiring issues. Such as loss of trailer brakes randomly, loss of connections to trailer, etc? If you do reading you will see it is a massive issue and continues to plaque truck owners as Chevrolet just states that it is working as design. NOW, I do love the truck though minus this continued issue.

Hey Ben I double checked the door sticker at 4:35. Cold tire pressure for the front tires is 60 PSI (rear is 80 PSI). I sure thought the fronts were at least 70 PSI? That along with the independent front suspension could explain the better ride qualities of the Chevy over comparable Ford and Ram HD's.

My Denali HD was same, 80 psi in the rear is way to much, I got 2 flats first time it seen gravel, changed dash sensors to 60 psi all around, but the ruff ass ride is from the solid front axle 🤷🏽‍♂️

GM exhaust brake is equally as strong as the rams, but the computer controls its parameters. So (ive owned many cummins trucks) the cummins as soon as you let off the brake when the exhaust brake and tow haul mode is engaged it immediately slows you down and the exhaust brake is at 100%. The chevy takes into account how hard you depress the brake, grade that you are going down and how quickly you depress the brake. When i first got my 2021 chevy 3500 coming from a ram i hated the exhaust brake, but now i am used to it and would say they are equally capable. IF you only tow super heavy on city streets and are in constant stop light traffic id say the Ram would have the exhaust brake advantage.

Ben love Your videos! I have recently ordered one of these trucks. I noticed that this particular truck had Michelin tires on the Passenger side, and Firestone, at least on the rear Driver side. Is this a common thing? One would think that Chevrolet would have the same brand of tires all the way around?

Ben, I almost forgot, there is 2 different Z71 option packages on these trucks. I ordered the more extensive one. Maybe You could explain on one of Your videos, what the differences are on the two different packages. Kind of confusing. Does the more extensive package include 20” tires? Thanks again!

I noticed that too. It appears with the LTZ trim you are forced into 20's, likely slightly worse ride on pavement and much worse on dirt roads.

*I noticed after 10k miles my 6.6 mpg dropped 7 mpg which I believe is something they have installed into operating systems to make u think it’s great! Our new GMC 3500 has had nothing but problems… Serious transmission issues, multiple tune upgrades through dealer.. emissions problems. We have it for sale now. My buddy has a 2017 Duramax with a real Allison, not this rebranded trans. We’re actually Looking at a 23 Ram Laramie as the Cummins and Aisin we’ve heard is the less of 3 evils.

Mine has this transmission thing where it gets around 25mph and does this chug chug chug lurching thing. Lots of emissions problems. Had a HO Cummins aisin before and it was flawless but not quite as refined to drive.
